Gorgeous Log Home featuring 8-person outdoor HOT TUB-available year round.

10/10 Excellent

"The log house was a perfect venue for our family get together. The kitchen was well stocked with every pan, bowl, etc you would need plus the thoughtful things like spices and even plastic baggies for your goodies to take home or on your outings.The bedrooms were large and comfortable, although a little tall for little ones to get in & out of. The basement bedroom worked but is part of the entire basement floor, so we planned our time down there accordingly. The hot tub was ready for us on arrival and looked so inviting! While we had full intentions of using it, we never got in! The grounds were pretty and we enjoyed just sitting outside, overlooking the property, relaxing and chatting the day away.Independence as a town is tiny but Arcadia was close by and kept us busy with their weekend town celebration. We would definitely stay here again when we do a "meet in the middle" trip in the future."

"Admittedly I was looking for an inexpensive place to stay that allowed dogs. So, I expected less than 100% and I was okay with that. Check in was easy. $15 surcharge for our dog was reasonable. Got to the room and there was no microwave. Shortly after getting settled the toilet backed up. The manager was quick to hand me a plunger. I had to unplug the toilet myself. After an hour or so the manager arrived and cleaned up the bathroom mess and grabbed the plunger. Breakfast was so-so. The egg offering was a thin yellow disk about 2 1/2" in diameter. I've stayed in places that were far worse. It was clean basic motel experience."

"The staff received one star only because they were so hard to locate. Once we came across someone who worked there, they were very friendly and helpful. They advertise "contactless" check-in, which may look OK online, but when one is checking in and has questions or issues, it would be nice to be able to speak with someone. (We never did figure out how to regulate room temperature!) We've preferred B&Bs over traditional hotels because of the more intimate an personal atmosphere, which we found missing in this property. The property itself could use exterior maintenance, but it was clean. The location of the property is convenient to much of what downtown has to offer. Winona is a charming town and well worth visiting."

"Incredible!! The hosts were the most gracious we have met and clearly love Winona and their home. The food: fantastic. A wine reception, sherry for a nightcap, Irish cream and chocolate for bedtime, and a brilliant home-prepared 4-course breakfast event. No detail was spared in our room or common areas. We could not recommend this stay more highly."
