"The hotel was great, but nothing fancy. Small room with a TV, coffee machine and kettle was good but unfortunately no fridge. Restaurant and bar were lovely which is good as there’s not many other places of go/eat in the area. Dinner finishes early which we unfortunately missed. Breakfast has a great selection. 2 minute walk to the beach from the hotel was fantastic. "

"The hotel was central and not too far from the car park. However I have to say the bed was genuinely quite uncomfortable and the pillows disappeared when your head was on them. The breakfast was great and varied. Coffee wasn’t bad. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nice stay for the beds could be much much better"

"The rooms are what you would expect although if you have mobility difficulties you may want to request a ground/lower floor as the lift is small and the steps and corridors are also quite small. The hotel itself was nice, a clean seperate bathroom and the view was lovely from our room and we were in a standard and there was a basic AC. In this heat a fridge would be a nice addition so you could put your water in there but there were bottles of water for us on the side. The staff were really lovely and friendly, if you can get on the road outside parking is free (we were very lucky and got parked right outside the hotel). The location is great as you can walk up a lovely promenade towards the main beach and it's only about 10 minutes. Can't complain!"

"The hotel was delightful. Beautifully decorated & all staff were very welcoming & helpful. Breakfast was plentyful small garden which was usefully on a sunny day. Although closed for a private event. Air-conditioning room. Free parking, short walk to seafront. Downhill going, uphill back. Would definitely stay again."

"Arrived earlier than expected bur no problems checking in. Our room was extremely large and comfortable with Tea and coffee facilities. Car parking was free which was Ideal you can leave your car and take the a short walk to the Westgate of Canterbury and enter the centre of Canterbury and Canterbury Cathedral. At the Westgate you can take a Punt trip along the river, which we did and found it serene and saw lots of wildlife including Swan's Ducks and Ducklings. On our return to the Hotel we took a walk from the Westgate alongside the river though Westgate park . We ate in the hotel restaurant the Menu was extensive and there was the option of a carvery. Very good friendly service."

"Avoid this hotel at all cost. Firstly the hotel reception is located in the main restaurant and the staff are too busy dealing with other customers so you will end up waiting with luggage in a restaurant trying to check in, staff are unhelpful and do not even greet you. The rooms are stuffy and uncomfortable. I stayed with my family and the bathroom is dirty and smelly. When i complained for a different room staff told me to check out and request refund because no other room can be given. The water pressure is very low and bath tubs are dirty . Alot of lime scale is visible on taps and the carpets seem very old, beds are ok but the bedding had yellow stains in the corner as housekeeping may have tried to hide from guests. I also noticed mice running around in the carpark that made my kids feel uneasy. Maybe because restaurant food waste was left at the back of the building."
