"Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. "Inside property was clean but hallway was not so much due to seagulls and others, host could have been a bit quicker at responding. Location was very good though parking in front of property was based on first come first served but there was parking on the street which you had to pay for from 9am to 5:30pm. Bed was comfortable sofa was a two seater and very uncomfortable and wobbly. Luckily we didn’t have to spend too much time sitting on it as the tv didn’t work for the last day and a half."

Check in was difficult as you need to communicate with host over phone to retrieve the code to access the key but apart from that it was great. "Parking was in a disconnected garage across a street and behind the building. Drop off bags at the front before heading to parking which is uphill and at least 200 yards away if not further. Hotel is accessed via a private road so our gps expressed an alert about that but there was no restriction on driving it. Drive to airport was very convenient and about 20 minutes. Convenient gas station access along the route."

"Overall a brilliant hotel, right by the station and well located for everything. Reasonably quiet room despite overlooking a main road. Breakfast was a good selection, we are there in the evening a couple of times and it was lovely. Front desk happy to look after luggage which is a huge plus The room we were in had obviously had some repairs - patched up hole in the bath and a usable but cracked sink - so could do with a refresh. Beds were comfortable, roomy enough for a couple of days. Leisure facilities small but nice - had a lovely swim. Overall would recommend and would consider returning if back in the area."

"The hotel is in an excellent location close to all Newcastle has to offer. Throughout our stay staff were kind, helpful and seemed happy to greet their guests. The room was comfortable and well maintained by cleaning staff with good quality toiletries. Coffee, tea, biscuits and cartons of water were replenished daily. Breakfast was plentiful with a large menu of cooked to order items which were well presented and of good quality. Breakfast staff worked extremley hard replenishing, clearing tables and bringing hot food to their guests. All staff were friendly and polite."
