Charming retreat with modern comforts in serene views of Pike's Peak
10/10 Excellent
"Great little home located in a very quiet neighborhood. Our kids enjoyed the multi-level home and the second floor has a nice spot to play board games. It was a great place to relax for a long weekend. Beautiful views! "
"We are from MN - Colorado and Bear Cub Lodge was our first trip to the mountains with the kids, and this place took our breath away. The kids (13,15,17) explored the large area surrounding the house and would disappear for a couple hours at a time. That’s what I wanted! - To see them make an adventure out of the rocks, hilly landscape, and then come home to play some ping pong, foosball, and end the night in the hot tub. As far as a stocked kitchen - if they don’t have it, you don’t need it. This is actually one of the more robustly stocked kitchens I’ve ever rented, and the upgraded appliances are really nice. I would have to say my favorite thing is actually the book the owner put together. It is one of the most robust and informative of its kind I have seen in any rental I have had. I highly recommend going to Woodland Park and spending a day there just browsing the town. Grab yourself a beer at the local brewery, do some shopping and, if you’re like me and like to get a tattoo when I travel, Celestial Tattoo is phenomenal. The family really loved the dinosaur museum as well. We did white water rafting in Buena Vista (also the highest concentration of mountain peaks over 14,000 feet in the lower 48 ). Garden of the Gods is only 40 minutes away, and Eleven Mile Canyon is a MUST!Also, if anyone is curious, we are “bed snobs,” and these beds are extremely comfortable! Take it from me - this host has his stuff together! "
"For the benefit of our dogs, we sought a 4th of July escape from urban fireworks. We were delighted to find that Craig's cabin was well represented by the listing photos. The cabin is equipped with a mini-split cooling system, which kept it quite comfortable despite rising daytime heat; comfortable beds ensured restful nights. We also appreciated the fully stocked kitchen and the elevated food and water station for the dogs."
