Newly renovated, Downtown Abbey, is located on a quiet street surrounded by lush gardens offering privacy in the heart of the city and within walking distance to everything.
Stay with us and you'll enjoy: Easy self check-in & generous check-in (12 pm) & check-out (2pm). FREE parking on property for 2 cars & a Level 2 Electric Vehicle Charging Station.

Sleep in comfort on our King and Queen USA made hybrid mattresses with lux linens, blankets & quilts. We also provide plush towels, shampoo, conditioner, hand & body soap. Washer/Dryer, hair dryer, curling iron, iron & ironing board.
We offer a fully equipped kitchen for preparing family meals and installed a REVERSE OSMOSIS (RO) water filtration system for chemical free drinking water & ice. There are several coffee shops within 2 blocks and our Keurig coffee pot with organic pods are furnished so you can also enjoy a cup of coffee in our beautiful gardens.

In addition to Central Heat/AC, all rooms have ceiling fans, window blinds & Smart TV's (65"/50"/32"), Nest speakers & digital antenna; no cable tv. Our private home is on one level; no stairs.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: The Abbey, once home for clergy of the neighboring church, is generally a quiet neighborhood. We provide Yoga sleep sound machines (made here in Wilmington) but should you have noise sensitivities, please prepare accordingly and bring noise cancelling air buds or consider a rental outside of the central business district. Wilmington restricts excessive noise after12 midnight Friday & Saturday and after 11 pm Sunday > Thursday. We are not responsible nor offer refunds for city sounds.

The home is beautifully appointed, decor is well beyond any expectations, tastefully updated with beautiful lighting, flooring and cabinets …many extra touches, including a bottle of wine and sparking water!The owner was so friendly and easy to communicate with. She also provided detailed info on every appliance and sound system.The location was literally walking distance to everything we wanted to do on the trip including “best restaurant” next door!We will look forward to our return!!

In the Middle of it All

This place is a gem right in the heart of Wilmington. Easy walk to coffee shops, restaurants/bars and the Riverwalk! Beautiful streets and architecture at every turn. Completely updated property made for a comfortable stay for four.

Amazing home in historic Wilmington

We travelled to Wilmington to meet some visiting friends from New York state and this little gem of a house made the weekend trip unbelievable. The house was in an great location with walking access to the river front, multiple breweries and restaurants. We were able to park the cars and walk everywhere we wanted to go. The house had all of the amenities needed for the weekend. The owner provided details on everything including locating the parking which was down an alley. She was responsive to questions and checked in occasionally just to make sure everything we needed was there. I will be returning to Wilmington and staying at this home again in the future, hopefully in a cooler part of the year. ;-)

Fabulous little Gem

We enjoyed our stay at Downtown Abbey so much. The host, Jo Ann, was so communicative and responsive to any questions we had before and during our trip. The location was absolutely perfect! We walked to everything we did downtown and dove over to the beach. Just a perfect getaway!

Perfect stay for a family wedding

We stayed for a weekend for a family wedding. Both the church and reception were just a few blocks away making it the perfect place to stay. We really enjoyed how easy it was to walk to so many places in downtown Wilmington also. The house itself is so well done, everything is beautifully designed & immaculately clean. We would love to stay again!

Hidden Gem

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Downton Abbey and Wilmington. The house is very neat, clean, modern yet comfortable. And the host was very accommodating and helpful. We came for just a getaway. It was very relaxing and made us feel right at home. would definitely stay here again. Loved the early check-in too.

The house is impeccably decorated and very well stocked. Everything in the house is of very good quality. The location is perfect for enjoying the downtown and riverwalk, and easy to access. Owner communication was great too. My husband and I enjoyed our stay and would rent this home again.

Downtown Wilmington Delight

We stayed for our daughter’s wedding one block away. The home is perfectly located and fully refurbished to modern standards. We were the envy of other guests. The two parking places were a great bonus in a city with limited parking.

Didn’t expect a Dreamy stay

Absolutely happy with this Vrbo. We did not expect a place considering it was in prime downtown Wilmington to be this good but exceeded our expectations by a lot!. Close to everything and easy drives to the beaches as well. Was extremely easy going to get coffee and drinks nearby without driving. Will be returning here again for sure.the host made sure we had everything we need and it was a blast!

Heart of Downtown

If you are looking for a home to rent in the heart of downtown Wilmington, look no further. No need for a car as you can walk everywhere. We took in great dining, shopping and markets!! The house is well equipped, clean and very comfortable with everything you could need for a great stay. JoAnn, our host, kept us well informed from the start of our vacation with things to do and see along with detailed information on the home itself. We will be coming back!!

Downtown Abbey…perfection!

We truly enjoyed our stay in this fabulous home in downtown Wilmington! Perfect location. Beautiful modern decor. Very easy to communicate with host, JoAnn. She thought of all the amenities even down to the nightlights and makeup mirrors! Two (2) off street parking spaces were a bonus. Quaint outdoor space as well. We loved everything about this home and would definitely return.

NYE in Wilmington

The cottage was perfect for the three of us. The location is right in the middle of downtown within walking distance of everything. You could walk past it and not even notice, so it feels like it’s a secret spot. It was also great having the parking space right by the back door. I will say that the outside noise is certainly noticeable late at night, but there are sound machines in both bedrooms that cancel most of it out. I will definitely stay here again!

Vacation

This may be the best VRBO rental experience ever. The location is great. Everything in downtown Wilmington within walking distance. A family member is disabled and walks with a cane; there were no issues getting around this property. Great attention to detail; we particularly appreciated the household items provided were all for people with skin sensitivities- Thank you; that is not typical. We plan to go back again.

Second Time Around

This was our 2nd time staying at Downtown Abby. Love the location as its literally walking distance to all of Historic Downtown Wilmington's bars, restaurants and shops. The house is exceptionally clean and equipped with everything you could need and more! We were in Wilmington for Thanksgiving with family and I cooked a couple of sides to bring to our dinner as the kitchen is complete with everything I needed. Our host Jo Ann communicates all the way through the reservation process, upon check in and after. The only thing I would say is you might hear bit of noise coming from some of the bars on a given weekend night that could keep you up late but that is what is expected when renting a house downtown!
