    Welcome to your modern coastal escape — a bright, open-concept loft designed for comfort, relaxation, and style. Just steps above the heart of downtown Wilmington, this 2-bedroom, 2- bath retreat blends modern design with coastal southern charm, offering the perfect getaway for families, couples, or small groups exploring the Port City.

    Step inside and you’ll be greeted by soaring ceilings, a kitchen/living/dining area encased in windows, and a seamless flow between the social areas. The fully equipped kitchen features brand new appliances, modern finishes, and everything you need to cook or entertain during your stay. Unwind in the airy living room, where natural light floods the space, or treat yourself to a cocktail at the mini bar while you get ready for an evening out on the waterfront.

    • Primary Suite: King bed with plush European linen sheets, ensuite bath with walk-in shower
    • Second Bedroom: Queen bed, cozy bohemian accents, and easy access to the second full bath with walk-in shower.
    • There is also a pull-out Queen sofa bed, should your group require an additional sleeping area in the living room.

    "Above Board" is located on the 2nd floor of the newly renovated W.H. McEacherns Sons building, a historically beloved building on Front Street.

    Guests will have a coded lock entry from the main street entryway. Once inside the private landing area, a second security coded lock will open to the staircase that leads up to the loft apartment.

We were impressed by the high-quality materials and detailed design of this rental. The solid wood cabinets with modern gold accents were top-notch. The fully stocked kitchen had plenty of items to entertain a crowd. The super comfortable couches, chairs, bed, and pillows were a bonus. The linen sheets were an unexpected upgrade from a simple cotton blend. There were plenty of fluffy towels, even black washcloths for your nightly skin routine. Rich shampoo, conditioner, and a mildly minty bodywash were provided. Everything from the entryway to the laundry room felt elegant and reserved without feeling heavy or pretentious. We would definitely stay again. To improve the experience, a shower stool or something slightly elevated for shaving would be great.The location is excellent. It’s on the beginning of front street action, with bars, pubs, dining, and boutiques nearby. If you want more options, it’s a 10-15-minute stroll to the northeast end. Uber and lift options are available. You’re also directly above a Sevard Brewing for a nightcap. The street noise is noticeable, but ear plugs and sleep masks are provided for light sleepers.You’re 25min from the beach. Highly recommended ‘Got Shade’ on the way to Wightsville beach for daily beach chair & shibumi rentals when you didn’t pack any.

Our stay was great! The location of the property is perfect for exploring downtown Wilmington and the brewery downstairs was awesome….Great place to relax and enjoy a drink. The property itself was very clean and modern. Hosts were very responsive and accommodating, and we would definitely stay there again! I stayed during the azalea festival and it was a great location to get to the events downtown
