Ferien in der Vogelherd by Interhome
The wooden house, built around 1750, is located next to the Luchtenbächlein stream on the original footpath to Heiden in the "Vogelherd", not far from the village. The marvellous view of Lake Constance invites you to relax and linger. The Witzweg (simply hilarious!) leads almost past the house. The other hiking routes in the hilly "Vorderland", to the nearby Biedermeier village "Luftkurort Heiden" (baths!) or to the excursion destination St. Anton are also attractive, as are the trips to Lake Constance or St. Gallen - also thanks to the good connections with the post bus. And a varied trip on the Appenzell rack railways (Heiden-Rorschach, Rheineck-Walzenhausen) is simply part of the holiday programme! Attractive holidays in an idyllic location in a historic Appenzell house (i. e. in the part of the house on the mountain side) with a wonderful view of Lake Constance, very quiet location - original living/dining room (old parlour) with historic cast iron stove and retractable shutters - 3 charming bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, separate WC - suitable for 4-5 people (max. 4 adults, children must attend school) - small garden with adjoining stream, additional sunny seating area on the south side with fountain - 2 car parking spaces (not covered) - barbecue, various garden chairs etc. for free use
Other sports and leisure activities: Electric biking, hiking, mountain bike tours, swimming, (mini)golf: the Appenzellerland offers a wide range of possibilities for varied holidays. Culturally, there are various interesting museums and cheese dairies to choose from. In winter, tranquillity is the order of the day instead of exhilarating après-ski. Various toboggan runs, friendly little ski areas and cross-country skiing centres guarantee real winter fun. Those looking for relaxation will find what they are looking for at the Herisau sports centre or the Unterrechstein spa. Not forgetting all the cosy (mountain) restaurants serving Appenzell specialities. Various events with lots of traditional customs round off the offer.
Excursion possibilities: In addition to the Appenzellerland itself, there is much to discover in Eastern Switzerland: the city of St. Gallen with its UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lake Constance, Walter Zoo in Gossau, Säntispark in Abtwil, boat trips on Lake Constance, the city of Vaduz with the Citytrain or the Toggenburg holiday region with the Sound Trail.
