With new COVID-19 safety guidelines in effect, travel looks a bit different today. Here are a few things to know before you head off to Wolmido:

• Understand if any restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so check before you book.
• Wear a face mask during airport screening. A TSA employee will ask you to lower your mask temporarily to verify your identity.
• To reduce the risk of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA officer.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now allowed in your carry-on baggage. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to take it out of your bag at the X-ray machine for scanning.
• Empty your personal items from your pocket, such as your keys, phone and wallet, and put them in your carry-on instead of the bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray scanning. Food items often trigger the alarm. Putting them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to handle and inspect your belongings.
