This home is on stilts with gorgeous views of Crooked River. Quietly nestled amongst a 40 acres, this property is conveniently located just 3/4 of a mile from I-95 and 25 minutes from Jacksonville, Florida. This home features a master suite with a king bed, a guest bedroom with two twin beds, with an open kitchen and living room with large 16 foot sliding glass doors, enjoy beautiful views of Crooked River. Savor your morning coffee on the outdoor deck overlooking the river, while relaxing to the sounds of birds chirping and dolphins swimming up stream. There are large, mature oaks with Spanish moss. This is southern relaxation at it finest! This is a one of a kind property to take the weight of the world off your shoulders.

This was a perfect property if you love to fish. We caught redfish, trout, silver perch, crabs and shrimp. The outdoor firepit was nice, but weather didn't allow us to fully enjoy it. Despite the weather, we had a great time fishing on the covered dock.

Fantastic views and location

This is a great quiet location with incredible views. Very clean, owners very responsive. The dock was incredible and catches the breeze and provides shade so despite hot temperatures it was very comfortable.

A Slice of Paradise

Modern cabin with a gorgeous view of the River and marsh, this property is perfect for a relaxing getaway or, if you have a small boat, for crabbing for blue crabs.

Weekend Getaway

Everything about the cottage and property were perfect. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything was so clean. The property was beautiful and relaxing. We fished off the dock most of the time and were able to catch several crabs, as well as several fish. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our time at Wheeler Cottage. The property was clean and nicely decorated with thoughtful touches. The outdoor space of the property was fantastic, including a wrap-around porch, a fire pit, a swing, and a dock on the river. Definitely recommend!

Perfect family getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at Wheeler Cottage. The home was beautiful and clean. Perfect space for a family of four. The property was amazing. We loved all the outdoor space with the huge yard, firepit, and spent so much time fishing down on the dock. We were looking for a quiet week away for the holiday week and got exactly what we needed. The owners were very easy to communicate with as well. Would absolutely recommend this place!

Perfect Peace

Everything was better than you get from the pictures. Home was clean and lovely. The property was private, but not too isolated. Beautiful view, enjoyed the firepit and the dock as well. Saw dolpins and all sorts of birds. Had a wonderful time. Hope to return soon.

Perfect retreat

Thoughtfully curated property. Perfectly designed for a peaceful retreat. Has DOLPHINS! In every way it has been designed for comfort and peace. We fished, kayaked, shrimped, spent hours upon hours sitting on the dock watching the wildlife. There is a wonderful fire pit as well. It was also beautifully clean.

Outstandig Cottage

A cozy cottage nestled in a beautiful area with a breathtaking view. It was everything we thought it would be plus more. The vicinity to stores and was perfect and just far enough away to feel like you escaped civilization. The grounds were well maintained and afforded us to do an many activities as we could think of. Best fishing vacation ever!

The cottage and property were beautiful. My husband caught more fish than he ever has in one trip. We had to add an app to our phone to identify all the different varieties. The only thing that would have made the stay more perfect would be a fish cleaning station. Would visit again. We fell in love with the Georgia coast.

Beautiful property to make memories

Practically perfect place along the river. Peace and quiet all around. We drank wine on the dock, relaxed on the swing and sat by the fire pit each night! My only regret was we didn’t have use of the inside fireplace but everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived to spend Thanksgiving this year! We will be back again and again…

Husband birthday getaway

Oh my, where do I begin? The cottage was pristine. It was beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable. While walking to the dock we stopped to relax in the swing and soak up rhe mesmerizing nature that surrounded us. The dock had comfortable chairs and fans. We enjoyed fishing and crabbing. While relaxing on the dock we saw alligators and dolphins. Looking forward to coming back soon.

My husband and I and my sister and brother in-law have been making our annual trip to Crooked River for many years. Because of the hurricane the state park was closed and boy are we glad we found this beautiful place as an alternative. The cottage is lovely, well furnished, very clean and everything you need for a wonderful stay. It was so nice to be able to keep our boat in the water at the dock and get out early for fishing and crabbing. We so enjoyed siting on the dock chairs in the evening having a cocktail and watching the sunset. Our last night we had a yummy crab feast out on the back patio. This will definitely be our new place to stay for our annual trip Thank you to our host who was very responsive and kindly answered all our questions.
