About this property
UP NORTH - Charming Chalet
A Charming Family Friendly Chalet in the White Mountains of New Hampshire ~ *Up North* sleeps 6 Adults comfortably and offers 2 Bedrooms; 1 Bathroom; Wi-Fi/high-speed Internet, Smart TV’s (Roku) in the living room and bedrooms and is also well stocked with the conveniences of being home (cooking supplies, condiments, Keurig coffee machine); along with a cozy fire pit on the property. In addition, our guests will have access to (small but cozy) beaches on two private lakes to swim, boat (non-motorized) and fish (no license required).
*Up North* is very rural (almost at the top of a small mountain) and is located in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire, in the private Mountain Lakes Resort Community ~ The Chalet is a perfect "home base" for branching out into any direction; for any activity that you may choose to do ~ Our Four-Season Retreat is located on almost an acre of private property in a peaceful, wooded setting, with activities nearby that are suitable for all ages and disciplines. We are also close to ATV and snowmobile trails, marked hiking and walking trails, zip-lining, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and multiple four-season Ski Resorts. We are also a short 15-minute drive away from the VT border for more fun activities.
**For those with mobility issues: The Chalet does have stairs that you will need to climb to gain access to the main living area ~ you can see the layout on the properties photo gallery page** ***There is a Ring Security camera/Motion detector facing the driveway and wildlife camera-side woods*** We apologize in advance for our past guests wrong doings, but unfortunately, a few have left us with no choice but to implement a mandatory pet fee (this will be reflected in payment details). We never wanted to do this, ever, but these unfortunate past circumstances have left us with no choice. We truly love our four-legged guests, but sometimes their owners take advantage and are disrespectful of our home and property. Thank you so much for your understanding! (GPS may take you to Sawyer Hill Road ... Please do not use Sawyer Hill Road during the Winter or early Spring months. Four-wheel drive or front wheel drive is highly recommended throughout Mountain Lakes during the Winter and early Spring months.)

We had an amazing stay. The place was so clean and roomy loved the dog yard for our pup and the fire pit. It was so relaxing to sit on the deck..we had one rain day and were happy to play inside with our 9 year old in the game room! The lake was awesome. Will definitely book again
Carol and Kurt’s home was perfect for our long weekend with our family and dogs! The house had everything we needed and the location was great for hiking. The only downside is we wish we were staying longer to take advantage of the home and its surroundings including the lake for fishing.
Up North was a perfect, quiet location. It's a very homey, quaint and well loved cabin.
Carol had a lot of great information and suggestions for first time visitors. Communication with her was pleasant and easy.
Very clean cabin in an extremely quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Cabin is surrounded by trees and there is a nearby lake that is right down the street which is nice and quiet. Even though the neighborhood is quiet you are still close to places like Lincoln, Franconia, Littleton, etc. So, if you want the peace and quiet of the Whites, yet want to enjoy the touristy stuff, this is the perfect place. Also, extra amenities "in case you forgot". That was a great touch! Highly recommended!!
We enjoyed our stay, the kitchen was well equipped, the pool table and yard full of snow were a big hit. The loft bedroom was great for the kids (9&11) The floor to very high ceiling windows were stunning and let in amazing warm light. The furniture was a little rough all of the dinning room chairs were very loose and the couch was an issue because the recliners wouldn't close. We tried to let the owner know and never got a response. Overall good house for the value and would recommend staying here even with the few small issues.
Up North was such a wonderful stay. It was clean quiet, and a welcome sight and the end of a drive through a snow storm. Which gave us the perfect weekend away!
We had a great stay at this little New Hampshire getaway! Great little information binder with lots of good information and loved that they had little very bright flashlights hanging everywhere that actually all worked for just in case! Nice cozy feeling with the white Christmas type lights strung along the beam in the kitchen/dining room area.
This house is really great for everyone who loves beeing in the woods. Our son liked the billard table and the basketball in the garden. The kitchen equipment and the sofa in the living room need a little bit update. There is a great lake nearby.
We had such a lovely time here! We went hiking, swimming in the lake and just chilled at the property! We only had 2 nights but we wish we had stayed longer! The property was lovely and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay! My older teenage boys loved the basket ball, the diving board at the lake and walking The Black Mountain! 10/10
First, the owner are extremely friendly and are very welcoming, for the chalet is as we saw on the ad, it’s very comfortable and several amenities are present, a vacation spot and absolute tranquility, we greatly appreciated are stay.
Thanks again to the owners!
Peace and serenity on the back deck. Large fire pit was great for the family get together. Game room for days of inclement weather.
Well cared for. Well stocked. Open communication.
Perfect mountain retreat for families.
Recommend an SUV if you are coming in the muddy or snow season
Check in was simple! As described in email received! Home owner highly responsive. This stay was just for R&R and detachment from the crazy of life. Kitchen well stocked with all basic necessities to cook just about any meal. It may be time to replace some kitchen supplies, some pots and pans may need some replacing and/or lids. But goal achieved! All basic simple needs were met! We enjoyed the deck! Dogs had fun in yard and enclosed area! Lakes were beautiful! Staff at Lake house were awesome! Wish the Lodge was on the Lake! Might still consider small family gathering at Lodge next year! Will definitely return for some getaways!
Perfect pet friendly get away, quietly tucked away in a mountain community, nestled in the trees providing privacy. Fenced area for the dogs was much appreciated as was the deck gate allowing us to relax with our dogs without worry. The whole cabin was well equipped and I believe the mattresses are all new and are super comfortable. The living room couch has seen better days and was not comfortable but luckily we were blessed with beautiful weather and spent the majority of our time on the deck. There are tons of nice touches including cute cabin decor and super fluffy bath towels. The hosts were very gracious and responded immediately to correct a minor issue with the internet. I would definitely stay again!
