Beautiful villa in quiet location
Villa Mara is a lovely villa and the outside space is even better than it looks in the photos . The villa was very clean and there were lots of little extras left for us e.g. Toiletries , BBQ supplies and some wine and home produced olive oil .
The owners met us on arrival and were very friendly and helpful.
You definitely need a car as the villa is far in the countryside .This made for lovely quiet relaxing days , which was good but we had to drive to shops, restaurants etc. The nearest village is just over 5 mins drive away where there are 2 small supermarkets , a lovely bakers and small butchers but to get all supplies needed it's best to drIve to the bigger towns, about 20-25 mins drive away.
We like to be able to walk to a nice restaurant or bar in the evening so this was a down side for us, having to always drive and the nearest town had limited choice.
Overall we had a lovely week, couldn't fault the villa but would have liked not to be quite so remote. A week of relaxing and eating in was fine , especially as the outside entertaining area is so lovely but I think 2 weeks with 4 teenagers ,not beIng able to go off and do their Own thing , would have got a bit monotonous.
It's probably ideal for families with small children who aren't interested in going out too much and want to unwind in the gardens and pool.
