The room was cleaned daily, and the evening turndown service was a lovely touch. The staff were exceptional — every single member of the team went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail truly exceeded expectations. The spa was the best ever.

We had a lovely stay at the Baraza Resort. Although the beach, villa and food were top notch, it is the staff that deserve six stars! The entire staff are so wonderful and cater to your every need. This was the perfect stop after 8 days of Safari before our long journey home. I can’t recommend the hotel more highly. We also enjoyed the spa which was fabulous.

Our stay at Diamonds Mapenzi Beach had several positive aspects. The location is good, the pool area is nice, and the staff are friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the stay. That said, there are a few points worth being aware of. The rooms appear more worn in reality than the pictures suggest, which detracts from the overall impression. In addition, the food unfortunately falls below expectations. Considering the price, the culinary experience could have been significantly better. This becomes particularly noticeable when compared to similar hotels in destinations such as the Seychelles or Cape Verde, where the food standard is often higher within the same price range. It is also worth mentioning that the Hotels.com Gold benefits (Early/Late checkout, Upgrade) do not seem to apply here (even when listed on confirmatio). However, this appears to be more an issue with Hotels.com rather than the hotel itself. Overall, a perfectly acceptable place to stay, but somewhat overpriced for the experience it offers.

The rooms were roomy and clean. Beautiful overall ambience. Nice ocean view. Good evening entertainment.

Staff were exceptional. Food menus catered to varied needs; servers even remembered my lactose free requirements, and altered my menus accordingly. Grounds and beach were impeccable, pool was always crystal clear. Free entertainment most evenings, we had acrobats and a story teller one evening. Security made us feel taken care of. The spa offered a full menus of services.

View over Indian Ocean was magnificent, but no beach was disappointing.

We recently stayed here and picked the hotel because of a couple of things - quiet beach and the eco friendly credentials - both of which we thoroughly enjoyed and I’d give a 5 star for that. The staff are really great and mostly super helpful - once they get to know you especially if you are not Italian. Couple of things to note: The hotel is 90% catered to Italians so if you don’t like pasta and pizza you are pretty much stuck. One of us was vegetarian so ate pizza and chips the entire time which wasn’t so nice! On the positive side the gelato was first class but you had to ask for it , so if you didn’t know, you would easily miss out on it! And if you want to take nice insta worthy pictures after dressing up in the evenings then better be prepared to pay premium for a drink just to get a nice glass or land up taking picks in papercups because that’s all you get as an All inclusive paying customer! And noop apparently it’s non negotiable to get a decent glass at the bar otherwise! Finally our room - it was probably the farthest from the beach and right behind the amphitheater. The room was smelling mouldy and full of mosquitoes when we entered which to be fair they fixed quickly by cleaning with a strong cleaner and spraying with repellent. But we couldn’t do much about the noise level in the evening. Overall we loved the beach and the quiet location of the hotel.
