Check in at 3pm and check out at noon was easy and seamless with the very helpful and friendly staff who spoke to us effortlessly in English,our native language. Our room was on the 7th floor with uninterrupted view of the lighthouse, casino and the sea. We had a partial view of the beach too, and caught the occasion glimpse of the plucky surfers riding the waves. Accessing our room was easy with a smooth, fast lift. We always looked forward to returning to our hotel during our stay knowing we had a lovely clean room with a view 'to die for'. Whilst we enjoyed visiting Biarritz and its attractions, our stay in the Mercure President was the 'icing on the cake', for want of a better expression. The Hotel President has an excellent central location with numerous cafes and restaurants to explore nearby, from the local market for a quick breakfast to the iconic Cafe Miramar for dinner. Spoiled for choice on our 2-day break, we never got around to eating in the Mercure President and hence cannot comment on the breakfast, which was reasonably priced from 10 Euros. We would unreservedly recommend a stay at the Mercure President Hotel, and it would be our first choice should we be lucky enough to return to Biarritz in the future. Sincerely, Alan & Linda

Great location plenty to do.

They tried so hard to make this a 4+ star hotel but it just doesn't manage it. The breakfast isn't worth the 20 euros that it costs. The bed was so hard that I had to take ibuprofen to deal with the hip pain after the night and the mildew in the room was bad. The whole family was coughing or sniffling after spending 5 nights there. We were VIP+ and had one of the 2 bedroom suites. We're in room #1. The mosquitoes in the private backyard were so bad that we had a hard time using the only table that seated all 6 of us.

Villa Genesis is a totally unique, boutique hotel, accessible on the main road into Menton. Staff are all incredibly welcoming and helpful, speaking superb English. Our room was the "cosy" option - it's small, but well appointed. Bathroom is excellent, although you can flood the shower, if not careful. The room was cleaned well each day, although there was always a little item missing - we had bottled water left by the bed on 3 out of the 7 days and the coffee and tea sachets were not refreshed every day. Swimming pool is delightful with good amount of canopies but gets full quickly. Do not consider ordering a poolside drink as these are priced exorbitantly! Breakfast was typically continental and not included in the room rate, so we only sampled it twice. Enjoy the hotel for what it is, brilliant service and accommodation on a lovely historical villa.

Every single employee is great. The food is fantastic. That sunday brunch iw a spectacle. The rooms could not be better. Without a doubt next visit we will also stay at du Palais Biarritz. Employees like Alvaro at front desk and Adrian at luggage, main door. They were very kind and helpful

What a gem of a property not far from any of the sights and activities in Bordeaux! From the time we arrived until we checked out the staff was very helpful giving us suggestions on places to eat along with how to navigate the city via tram that had a stop right by the hotel. Property had a good morning breakfast. Rooms were clean and a decent size, especially for French standards. Would definitely stay here again when in the area!

Hotel very handy for the tram and the Stade Atlantique. Room large and clean, but no fridge, and toilet separate to bathroom and without a basin. Decor nicely done in mid-century modern, to match the building's age. Breakfast could have been slightly better organised and staffed. Gym area had a few cardio machines and small dumbbells, and the swimming pool (outdoor, opened the day we arrived) was accessed via a narrow walkway on the outside of the 1st floor so I didn't bother looking! The area is just hotels and restaurants, and the conference centre. I can't imagine a similar place in the UK without a convenience store of some kind but there wasn't anything close by.

Beautiful view from the room! The room and bathroom were very clean with a shower that got nice and hot. Every staff member we interacted with were super friendly and helpful! Good breakfast too!
