9.6/10 Exceptional! (1,003 reviews)
The room was very nice, room 110 is on the 1st floor and directly above the canal and loading station for canal trips, bizarrely the room is never dark at night, it is floodlit from the other side of the hotel and there are lights outside of the windows that never go off, one of the staff said a city law said all lights had to go off by 10pm, so if you do want a dark room make sure it is not looking down on the canal.
The lounge and dining room are very nice, the breakfast is very good, but you should not have to pay extra for fried eggs etc when you have paid over 400 euros for the room, that is an insult.
Location is great, some of the visitors to Bruge are not so nice, there were roudy scenes by what can best be described as lager louts who think think it funny to shout at their mates who are going on a canal boat ride, this happened in the evening and the following morning, nothing the hotel can do but perhaps the politie could.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (1,006 reviews)
Loved the location and the hotel's historic side. Wish there was a elevator, but that's what you get with a historic hotel!

8.4/10 Very good! (1,000 reviews)
The hotel was exactly what we needed. Shame that the road and surroundings has not progressed in the 15 months since my last visit
