The room was clean, the hotel is right near the train, staff were very friendly and helpful. They even printed off my tickets for me, as well as offering mulled wine & a biscuit on arrival. The bar staff are very welcoming

This is an amazing hotel. From the check in where you get personal attention from Ulrike and have all questions answered over a glass of sparking wine or tea, to the magnificent rooms, to the wonderful in house restaurant. The location in the old town could not be better. A few minutes walk to the cable car up to the fortress, to the many shops in the old town. Walking bridges are also not far away if you want to walk to the other side of town across the river. If you can book a room on the fourth floor at the top with access to your own roof top sitting area. This is one of the best small hotels I have ever stayed at. Ulrike organised us taxis when needed, and she also organised the ‘Sound of Music’ tour for us - which by the way was a lot of fun, even if you are not a super fan of the movie.

The staff were all lovely and everything was very clean and new throughout which was great. We were disappointed with the facilities considering that this is marketed as 4 star hotel. This is a B&B with basic continental breakfast. If you are OK with that then I don't think you will be at all disappointed. Don't expect a 4 star hotel though. Reception and front door are locked after 7pm and there were no hot drinks facilities in the rooms and just a very basic TV.

The hotel was close to a supermarket, which was very convenient during our stay. Bus stops close by as well.

Staff was lovely! Location is great. But there are some distinct minuses that I share here because I would want to know them myself. a) Some rooms are great, some are not. Our room was tiny, cleaved-off from another room, and had uneven toe-stubbing floors (a sharp threshold from one section to another where the room had been created). The room had not enough space to navigate around the bed without bumping into the wall-mounted TV--extremely awkward. (Also very old carpet, which can never feel truly clean.) The bathroom was poor design with a tiny shower "stall" (folding glass doors hinged to the wall) which flooded the whole bathroom floor. I'm a fan of old buildings with character, but we paid something like 270 Euros for that room, which is far too much. For a hostel price, this room would be fine - but if I am going to pay 270 Euro, I want to be comfortable. Our second room was clean, renovated, and nicer. b) Another consideration is noise; we were awoken at 2-3am by glass bottles being dumped/sorted in the recycling in the courtyard, likely by the bar downstairs.The bar downstairs also is fairly loud so if you were to have a room facing the street, you'd be in for a noise surprise. The staff was really lovely. The cleaning lady works very hard and is kind, and the blond-haired woman at the front desk was also extremely nice. So if you stay here, I'd say to make sure you know which room you will be getting. That could make all the difference. Happy travels!

This was our first time visiting Austria, and overall we had a very good stay at this hotel in Salzburg. The hotel was easy to find and very convenient if you have a car. There was easy access for unloading luggage and available parking close to the hotel, which made arrival and departure stress-free. The staff was helpful and welcoming, and the room was nice, clean, and well insulated. Breakfast was good, with great coffee, and the location was excellent very easy to walk to shopping areas and many of the main sights around town. One small downside was the lack of complimentary water in the room, which would have been appreciated. The vending machine for bottled water didn’t work very well, and while water was available in the lobby, it was removed later in the evening, making access a bit inconvenient. That said, these were minor issues, and overall we had a positive experience and would recommend this hotel, especially for travelers with a car who want a central, walkable location.
