The room was modern and clean. Occasional drain smell from the slower was a little disappointing. Roof top pool and bar are nice but water in the pool could be cleaner. Staff are helpful but reception staff are incredibly slow and only one person to check in people, so when groups arrive it takes an age. Breakfast is good. Good location and lovely views of the Acropolis are. Overall an easy place to stay that's modern, will located and before from a roof pool. A few things could be improved to make it a 5 out of 5 review

The location is definitely the strongest point of NJV Athens Plaza. It is centrally located and within walking distance of the Acropolis and many other places of interest. Unfortunately, the room we were given felt very outdated, even though we had been told we were getting a nice room. The bathroom was old, had some mold, and several things felt worn or broke easily. Housekeeping also felt very basic. Aside from making the bed and replacing towels, there didn’t seem to be much attention to detail. Even items in the bathroom were left as they were rather than being tidied or rearranged. At other 5-star hotels, you notice those small touches, and that was missing here. The staff also didn’t feel particularly warm or welcoming. We had been traveling around Europe for almost two months and Athens was our final stop, so we had several pieces of luggage. The reaction from the doorman when we arrived made us feel uncomfortable rather than welcomed. Breakfast was average and repetitive, with the same options each day. I was also surprised that an omelet cost an additional €8. In my experience, made-to-order eggs and omelets are typically included at 5-star hotels. Overall, while the location is excellent, the room, housekeeping, breakfast, and service did not feel up to a 5-star standard. I would choose a different hotel on my next visit to Athens.
