Wonderful hotel with great view for Tuscany, good breakfast, perfect location to visit Cortona

It was right next to a port, it was so helpful with getting around town and luggage.

We stayed 5 nights. The complimentary breakfasts were great with a big variety. The folks at the front desk were super accommodating helping us get taxis and anything else. Rooms were nice. They don’t let the AC get too low here. It’s probably about 80 in the room on a hot day so warmer than I would set the temp at. But there was a heat wave going on. Overall , we would come back.

ALERT! Manager will try to deny this review as he said to us when leaving - THE POOL. Nice view and pool but we had to get our own towels from a bag. We had to clean chairs off of food/cigs & towels after waiting patiently for help. The one pool employee was never proactive. Also BEWARE, the hotel rents out the pool to outside parties so you may be left without anywhere to sit or get service which happened to us on July 21st. THE ROOM, is in high need of renovations. Dirty, bugs, ants everywhere and AC doesn't work, WiFi is very weak or lost, Cell network is minimal. THE FOOD, Pool = terrible Breakfast= below average Dinner = overpriced buffet only THE SERVICE: We cut trip short for family emergency by 2 days. Paid directly with hotel on arrival but booked through Expedia. Hotel takes full £ up front. They refused to refund last 2 nights despite 48hrs notice of us leaving. Explaining our tragedy asking the manager he only offered one night if: 1. Expedia called him and we gave our bank account details as he wouldn't refund back to original CC. 2. He said Expedia is the customer and not us?? TRANSPORTATION: it's a 17-25 euro cost each way by taxi to get into town or 40 minute risky walk-no Uber. HOUSE KEEPING: they make you return all keys to front desk before cleaning. Hotel is on the verge of bankruptcy it seems as you have to beg for the smallest things to be done. Overall, they lack staff and the customer service is very poor and slow. 1.5 stars at best
