Excellent Location and very helpful staff. General area and rooms are very clean and spacious. wifi reception is very good and fast. unfortunately no bar but the lounge is open for hot drinks all the time.

It's a magnificent property from a historical perspective. I booked a stay because I love architecture and I used to frequent Amsterdam so this was the opportunity to peek inside. The interiors of the hotel did not disappoint! They should offer tours because it is just stunning! Every floor is a bit different. It is incredible how well-maintained the original stain glass, ornamentation, fixtures are considering it is 100 years old. Somehow, I ended up in a enormous corner suite that was a maze to get to but that is part of the charm of historic buildings. While some of the soft furnishings could use a refresh---the bedding is very comfortable, WC is clean and the shower was incredible! The hotel should get new photos because they look outdated. Staff was very professional and understand the business of hospitality. This property transports you to a bygone era.

Decent hotel in a good location. My complaint is with check in and the failure of the property to do what they said they would. The day before our arrival, we confirmed there would be someone at the hotel when we arrived from the airport. Alas, we showed up in that confirmed timeframe to a locked front door, not even able to get into the property. Had it not been for a cleaner showing up to work and letting us in, we would have to wait out on the street even longer with our luggage. As it was, we wasted about an hour of our limited time in Amsterdam waiting, which colored our experience from the start. Staff had arranged AI responses to chat inquiries that we sent - in this case that was not helpful. Maybe the hotel could start arranging for an activated front door key and wifi access instructions to be sent earlier to avoid this for others. Aside from this hiccup on the front end, if you don’t normally need things from hotel staff, this one is just fine once you’re checked in - walkable to transit and the Albert Cuyp market and easy to get to canals, museums, and the airport.

The hotel and rooms are gorgeous and in a great location. The staff is excellent and very helpful. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was great and the room was huge, which is not a common thing among hotels in Europe... so this was a definite plus for our last night in Europe, before a long flight home the next day. Also, our room had a wall of windows with a view of the water. All in all great. The only reason I didn't give 5/5 is because the people in the room above us were extremely loud, heavy walkers, banging and slamming things down on the floor above us until about 1030pm, it resumed for the majority of the next morning. This is obviously not controllable or at the fault of the hotel - and keeping in mind that it is a very old building, where perfect sound-proofing is not possible. There was not other crazy noice issues, but the elephants above did drag the experience down a little bit.

We loved staying at the ibis in Amsterdam! It is super close to both the main sight seeing spots and the big main train station which makes it super easy to get around. There is also lots of tram lines close by if you don't want to walk to get further into the city. The staff was super friendly and welcoming and even gave us some small freebies on arrival. The room and bathroom are a bit small but it didn't bother us personally as we only really used to room to sleep in as we were out exploring the city for most of our time there. Even though the area around is quite busy we didn't rally have any trouble with the noise level even though we were facing in the direction of the city. Because we were facing the city we had a stunning view onto a canal and the city as well.

Rick and Pena at the front desk were especially friendly and helpful. The location is great on a quiet canal. In the center of most sites.
