Costa Verde Kid friendly Holidays

This is a 1st rate place with a very proffesional staff; moreover, the hotel is in an excellent spot, very centric. The only REAL drawback that I can say is the lack of any proper chinaware in the rooms (paper cups don't cut it for me).

I expected onsite chef to make omlets by demand. But this was extra and very unusual for a 5 star hotel offering breakfast buffet as part of the package to not include it.

Booked 2 nights following another wonderful Viking trip ( on the Douro River ). Had done lots of research as we wanted to be in the Ribeira section on the river. Location was PERFECT! could walk to dozens of cafes/ restaurants/ wine bars etc and enjoy outdoors on perfect weather. Upon arrival a bit turned off by exterior which was in need of some cleaning up/weeding and, alas, next to a McDonald's ( in a lovely old building but surrounded by trash we had to pass each time we went in and out.. ugh). Staff small and va/ried levels of genuine hospitality...our room was wonderful with windows on the river. After a bit of juggling we're able to keep that room for both nights vs move ( our fault, 2 separate booking for 1 nite each but they were able to rearrange- appreciated!) Did included breakfast one morning..lovely, very generous spread of typical European fare with coffee & expresso machine availabilie early. Only 8 rooms, small but cozy breakfast room also facing river with seating for maybe 8 people.Porto is a very fun/ safe feeling place with plenty to do...plan at least 2 nights!

Location was excellent. Walkable to all key sites. Staff very friendly. We are in the restaurant twice once for dinner - has beef tenderloin which was extremely tasty. Had lunch one day as well. Large room and lovely public areas.

Spotless large room with a great view. Rooftop bar has great view, but restaurant is expensive and few options.

The breakfast had enough selections to be very satisfying to us. Easy to get our Cafe Americano which is most important to us. The hotel itself is charming and very clean. We will come back!
