Delightful hotel in a good location

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is right next to the train station and yet not noisy, at least in the rooms facing the courtyard. Tramways are accessible from there to any destination. Their efforts to make it sustainable can also be praised, with a free refill of excellent mineral water when bringing one's bottle. Yet, overall, this hotel is overpriced. The rooms are not particularly large, and the breakfast is good but not exceptional. The main issue was their A/C, which was so noisy that we had to change rooms. The second one was slightly better, but not silent. In our humble opinion, it deserves three stars rather than four.

Booked at 10pm and checked in at 12am as we came into Basel late - front desk gentleman was super great. Helped with directing parking (our car was higher than 1.9m so the basement hotel parking wasn’t possible but concierge send us to one nearby Claramatte(?) 5 minutes walk away which was fine (overnight 10pm-7am was €1.50 per hour. Hotel was clean, bright modern decor. Wife was very very happy with bathroom lighting as other premium hotels we’ve been in the past had quite dark lighting so didn’t help for make up but Pullman Basel was rated best for her. Breakfast was simple and reasonably priced. Trams stopped directly outside and train stations nearby but we didn’t hear any noise (and we were on second floor). Overall great experience and sleep. Complimentary water and Nespresso.
