Was pleased with the hotel. Room was clean apart from a piece of chewing gum stuck to a lamp shade. Breakfast variety was good. We didn't use the gym there was only a few pieces of equipment. Convenient for metro station 5 minutes walk away to get to Amsterdam Central. Used bar for evening meal once. Food was good, average prices for a hotel. Limited menu. A couple of meals we asked for on the menu weren't available. We had an early checkout at 7am and put a request in the previous day to get an early breakfast which they said they would arrange but when we were checking out they had nothing prepared for us. We were very disappointed at the lack of staff communication.

Even when I returned to check in after, I had to wait and was given a room next to the elevator which is not ideal since it gets loud. Room was very clean and comfortable with black out curtains. No view. Same for my friend who stayed on a different floor - same room, different side, no view but nice room. Staff were on and off. Some friendly, some awkward. I really liked the location. I don’t like to stay in central areas. I prefer off center in clean and less touristy but nice more local neighborhoods. Lovely neighborhood. Ubers and taxis did take a while the 3x I tried during the weekend.

The rooms are more nice to look at than they are practical. Helpful and understanding staff. Great location with the tram stops right outside and busy nightlife and restaurants while still being quiet in the rooms. The movie iHostage takes place across the street.

Be prepared for steep stairs! I knew there wasn't an elevator, but staying on the fourth (US fifth) floor was a pretty steep hike. The room and bed were comfortable, though the TV didn't have a signal. The bathroom was a bit cramped, but the shower had great water pressure and hot water. There wasn't daily housekeeping in the room, which was fine for me, but FYI for others. I loved the convenience of the location -- it was close to a lot and super convenient, but on a quiet canal and so was nicely peaceful at night. It was also a lot closer to Waterlooplein than it seemed on the map, so that was a nice surprise when arriving. The room would be tight for two people, but wasn't too cramped for just me.

This is not a true B&B. They have very limited facilities on site and do not keep their desk open for extended hours. It is a converted house, each floor is like a private suite. There are limited amenities in the suite too. Bring your own soaps/shampoos and be sure to ask for extra towels! It's in a very convenient location and is clean enough.

We loved everything about this property, including the 62 steps up to our room. The property was quaint and historical. It was so charming and absolutely beautiful. Everything was walkable or easily accessible via the nearby train station.
