Tucked away in a peaceful corner of a lively tourist area, this resort strikes the perfect balance — welcoming for children without being overwhelmingly kid-focused, ensuring adults can truly unwind.

We had a hassle on check in based on number in our party even though the room could easily accommodate us. The beds were hard and we didn’t get our queen bed. Towels weren’t the cleanest. Pool area was nice. Villa space was great as was the view

+ Nice area with lots of restaurants within walking distance and nice beach. - We payed for sea view but got given a room where the view was blocked by a part of the building so couldn't really see the sea. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion weren't provided. Complimentary water bottles weren't provided. Have to pay for sunbeds on the beach each day. Door for the steam room was broken so all the steam would escape. The coffee machines for breakfast made very watery coffees. Bed was also very lumpy and uncomfortable.

Really enjoyed the stay, room was lovely and the shower was incredible. Buffet breakfast was really good, buffet dinner not so good. One lifeguard seemed to really hate English people and often told off the children for playing with a ball or jumping in. Overall a nice stay and would go again.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the newly opened Viceroy Ombria Algarve, and it exceeded our expectations in nearly every way. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome—genuinely friendly, attentive, and always eager to help without being intrusive. The architecture is truly a standout feature: modern yet rooted in the local aesthetic, with beautiful design touches throughout that made the entire property feel luxurious and unique. The pools were absolutely incredible—serene, well-designed, and perfect for relaxing under the Algarve sun. The entire hotel is spotlessly clean, and every space feels modern and updated, clearly reflecting the care that went into its recent opening. We also spent some time at the spa, which was nothing short of perfection. From the ambiance to the quality of treatments, it was a top-tier wellness experience. The on-site restaurants were also excellent. Each meal we had was flavorful and beautifully presented, with a variety of options that catered to both local and international palates. One important note for future guests: the hotel is located in the countryside, so it’s a good 30–45 minutes by car to the coastal Algarve towns and beaches. A rental car is definitely recommended if you plan to explore beyond the resort. A beautifully situated and well appointed boutique hotel graced with courteous, efficient, multilingual staff. The pool and decking is framed with magnificent Mediterranean pines and rosemary. Gym is well equipped and the breakfast buffet abundant. Bedlinen is the finest, softest most silken cotton and the pillows provide a sweet slumber. Clientele in July was a mix of Portuguese ( a good sign when you stay in a country that its own people choose it) and some English, Irish and Italians. Guests were mostly well behaved.
