Was pleased with the hotel. Room was clean apart from a piece of chewing gum stuck to a lamp shade. Breakfast variety was good. We didn't use the gym there was only a few pieces of equipment. Convenient for metro station 5 minutes walk away to get to Amsterdam Central. Used bar for evening meal once. Food was good, average prices for a hotel. Limited menu. A couple of meals we asked for on the menu weren't available. We had an early checkout at 7am and put a request in the previous day to get an early breakfast which they said they would arrange but when we were checking out they had nothing prepared for us. We were very disappointed at the lack of staff communication.

My stay was AMAZING. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The views from my room of the river made the accommodations very special. The FREE ferry was just steps away to get to Amsterdam Centraal Station.

Very disappointing stay. The hotel does not live up to its advertised 4-star rating and offers poor value for money. Overall, it fell far short of expectations.

Very nice property situated in a gorgeous area, walking distance to tons of shopping and restaurants. We had no problem getting all over the city from the location. It took a moment to get used to the very steep stairs but that adds to the charm of the property. We also enjoyed the little cat that lives there! The staff was helpful and polite. We also appreciated the complementary snacks for guests. The room overall was nice and clean. We were provided with clean towels every day. Would recommend or stay here again!

The staff were available 24/7, arranging taxis, anticipating needs, and treating us with the kind of old-school attentiveness you’d expect from a personal butler. Their warmth and professionalism elevated the entire trip. The hotel’s amenities were just as impressive—the comfortable bed, a luxurious tub, the pool, and all the little details that made it easy to balance both business and leisure. I even had local friends visit, and they were equally impressed with the beauty and history of the building. I have no complaints—only gratitude. The Grand Hotel added an unforgettable touch of elegance and charm to my Amsterdam experience.

On point first class central location

Great location if you want to been the south of the city - very close to the Amsterdam South train station. Overall, a nice clean hotel ideal for business travel with short stays. Only downside was that there was just 1 member of staff at the bar and took a very long time to get served. Its a shame you cannot order food to your room.

Lovely hotel on the fringe of town, staff are excellent, polite and very helpful. 30min walk into main tourist areas, but you pass some amazing cafes and shops along the way it's a lovely walk. Albert Kuyp market a well worthy visit as is Vondel Park if you fancy a break from the streets. My advice is ignore public transport if you can (not that it's bad or anything negative) just you miss so much of the charm that is Amsterdam in the canals.

The best thing for me was its location. The basic room is exactly that. Friendly staff although reception is not open everyday. Stairs to third level room might be a challenge for some.

This is not a true B&B. They have very limited facilities on site and do not keep their desk open for extended hours. It is a converted house, each floor is like a private suite. There are limited amenities in the suite too. Bring your own soaps/shampoos and be sure to ask for extra towels! It's in a very convenient location and is clean enough.
