Amazing staff, all we needed to do was relax and the rest was taken care of!

The property is beautiful no doubt but the tipping feels too much. We tipped the gentleman taking our bags to our room (which is norm and that was fine). We went to lunch and on the bill there is a tip section and it felt like we should tip. We tipped the cleaning staff, but then during the day we had a separate person bring water to top up the room water and it seemed like he was looking for a tip, then someone else came in the afternoon to drop off a 'gift and it seemed he was looking for a tip too. At breakfast there is a tip option as well. We received a call the night before we were due to leave to find out what time we were leaving and if we wanted assistance with our bags, we declined as it seemed like yet another tip. The gentleman with the cart was there anyway which is great as it is a bit of a mission to take your bags back to reception . On checkout they advised there is a tip option for the reception staff on top of the 13% charge for a meal at the poolside bar. If you are used to tipping for everything then I'm sure it's fine, we come from a non tipping culture and this just seemed over the top. We have travelled extensively in Maldives, America and other tipping cultures and never found it quite to this degree. Breakfast just felt like being watched. They didn't like you getting your own water or juice and like to bring it to the table it just felt like they were limiting it. There is someone standing watching over the breakfast room too which doesn't feel nice
