Things I liked: - accessibility: This property was very close to everything in walking distance (Byward Market, parliament hill, Rideau canal, shopping centre, central area with buskers during the weekend, local parks) which basically is the value for staying here - the ambiance: the main floor ambiance was very nice and felt like a unique and elegant feel (fitting for Ottawa) - pool and gym was great but the towels could be bigger/ longer - they have life jackets for the little ones - restaurant - typical continental type breakfast (we went for the convenience since my kids woke up hangry) but a cheaper option is Tim’s (which is not far from the hotel) - water - water station with cups in the lobby with cucumbers/ lemon (I like this touch) or without (I’d suggest orange slices as another option) Things I did NOT like: - bathroom in the room: the toilets felt like a public bathroom in the sense it had the long back bar to flush (felt like the 90s school bathroom) - ventilation: it was extremely stuffy in the room (28 degrees C outside while I set the room temp to 17 degrees C); couldn’t open the window at night since there were no screens and bugs would come in if I did - bed: the mattress was ok not the best - parking: they only offer valet which is understandable. Self parking is at City Hall (study the map prior to parking because if you don’t, you’ll get stuck in one way streets); parking max daily rates: weekdays is >$20 and weekends <$5; lost ticket is $30
