Great location and clean rooms

The hotel smells bad so the staff constantly sprays this air freshener around that smells like bug spray..the towels r frayed and have holes in them..my single room was very small and so was the shower..there is a big hole by the front steps that is dangerous..8 steps to get into the hotel..the breakfast was OK.

Just be aware that if you have a downstairs unit, there is no lift. Well, there is a lift, but it doesn't work, and nobody will help you with the bags. My wife was on her own with three kids and three big bags, and nobody would help her go up these super narrow and super steep stairs. We even asked the cleaning people about the lift, and they just said it should work with a code. It didn't. We asked them for help, and they didn't want to help. Just make sure you don't get a lower unit if you have bags.

I have stayed at this hotel about five times over the last few years. Lovely location and great staff and a unique historic property which I love as I like boutique historic hotels. Just lovely.

Love staying here, centralized clean and a fantastic breakfast! We stay here exclusively when in Amsterdam.

This was a lovely spacious hotel and the reception staff were excellent. Our bedroom was excellent too and so clean with a very comfortable bed too. My only criticism of this hotel would be the bar downstairs and the fact that you could not order bar snacks - also, any food had to be from the restaurant menu and before 10pm. I did not find the bar staff particularly friendly either and the bar in general lacked atmosphere. One other negative was that one of the lifts had a terrible smell it in like sour milk or something alike - could do with the carpet in it being replaced as something has obviously happened to make it smell so bad. However these things did not ruin our stay. The bedroom was so great and reception staff so friendly, we had a lovely time. We definitely just would have spent more time (and money) in the bar if menu was better and later serving times etc.
