"Beautiful historical hotel with nicely appointed rooms and comfortable linens. There was no microwave or refrigerator in our room which I neglected to notice when I made the reservation. The room had a balcony and it was lovely to sit outside above the hustle and bustle on the street and enjoy a glass on wine before dinner! It was quiet inside the room; I never heard other guests or traffic outside. The only drawback was that there were no handrails or towel bars in the bathroom. "

The rooms were spotless and the housekeepers were personable and very helpful. It might not have been the ritziest but personalities and cleanliness more than made the difference. "The front lobby staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Nat was going specially welcoming up on my arrival. The breakfast was always hot fresh and variety every morning. I hav a Golden Retriever and I love that the hotel is pet friendly and my therapy dog is relaxed and felt comfortable also. I will stay there again when I make a trip back to Richmond to visit "
