"This was a really cool place to stay. Han was a terrific host, very welcoming and accommodating. He met us at the end of his little road and even carried my suitcase to the boat. Han acclimated us to the boat, explaining where everything was, and how to take care of the boat. He had flowers throughout the space, and had some beverages in the upstairs refrigerator. The main Iiving space has a couch, a desk, small refrigerator, kitchen sink and hot pot. From here one can access one sleeping area...

"The houseboat was immaculate and the host was super helpful. Anouk sent helpful tips via email about how to best explore the area. The bikes and optional boat were in great condition and really allowed us to have an immersive experience. The notebook that Anouk left on the table was super helpful and was better structured than many travel guides I've bought in the past. The restaurant recommendations were also spot on and overall it was the best accommodations I've ever enjoyed while travelling....

"I stayed with 2 of my friends in this cute little boat. We had an amazing time where it was walking distance from the centre. Although there is no running water the host was very friendly and accomodate for us and always made sure we had what we needed. Definitely recommend if you want to stay on an affordable boat in the canals of Amsterdam!!"

On the other hand, it is very tattered, dated, rickety and an electrical nightmare. Extension cords and hidden switches everywhere and very dimly lit. Floors covered with throw rugs that all overlap; the walls and ceilings covered with fabric that has been stapled on. And, used toilet paper cannot be flushed down the toilet. "Wir hatten zwei tolle Tage auf dem schönen Hausboot! Es ist wirklich der reine Luxus dort. Wenn man reinkommt, ist es zwar sehr heiß, aber da man alles aufmachen kann, kühlt es auch schnell ab. "Such a great location. Close to everything and quiet which was exactly what we were looking for! Host was wonderfully accommodating which we really appreciated! Only very very minor complaints were the water didn’t get hot enough to utilize the bath, (I like scalding hot baths!) and the internet was in and out a bit. Everything else was amazing! "This houseboat is not fancy - but it is as comfortable as being at a friend's cabin - we didn't want to leave. We had not stayed in Amsterdam before, so wanted our first few nights to be something unique. The boat was perfect! It was close walking to everything, yet it was quiet and relaxing once inside.
