"Sadly we did not get to stay. Apparently there was a technical problem at the apartment. Alternative accommodation was proposed but no longer available by the time I saw the message posted on my Expdia account. Not what you want 3 days before your holiday is due to start. "The rooms are very cute and comfortable with a clean bathroom and privat toilet. There is a very nice family who use the kitchen which gives the stay a local flavour and there is a nice market in the area. There is a cafe close to the apartment and that offcourse can be a bit noisy but it is also very local and in a very beautiful area. I would definitely choose to stay there again as Ortigia is a very charming part of the area. "

"It’s a 2 buildings hotel we were in the annex, the room was small but nice and clean. The only downside is no elevator to take the luggage up and down . Breakfast choice is very limited. Boiled eggs is offered but scrambled or other is extra charge. Amazing staff, joyful and and sooo nice. Antonella, who doesn’t speak any English was so excited to share with us the must see locations. Good location, close to many attractions. Free Bicycles to ride. Payable parking available through valet."

"Extremely lovely room with high ceilings and big windows. We had a corner room with views of the water from either balcony. There is a very nice terrace above available to all guests with great views and a place where you can watch sunset. It's also where they serve an amazing breakfast with lots of variety including coffee/tea, several cold juices, fresh fruit, freshly baked treats, canoles, boiled eggs, yogurt, bread, cheese, jam, etc. Very impressive. Great location close to shops, restaurants, and the market. Good air conditioning and Wi-Fi was not the fastest but sufficient. One negative is that our bathroom always seemed to have an unpleasant (sewer) smell coming from the shower drain as though the piping system is lacking a trap. Ortigia in general seemed to have an issue with its sewage system as we'd notice unpleasant smells while walking the streets occasionally as well. Overall very pleased with our stay."
