4 Star Hotels in Alvor, Portimão

This is a modern hotel with an interesting selection of artefacts and antiques scattered around the spacious cool marble spaces. Its very clean and well maintained. Breakfast from 8am to 11am is perfect timing for me as I like to take things slowly in the morning. Lots of choice at breakfast, all the standards - fruit, cereals , eggs cooked to order. This hotel is excellent in design and location. The surroundings are beautiful and the valley is a kind of hidden gem.

Went to Salema with partner and 3 kids, 15,9 and 8. Villas were of a particularly high standard. Spotless clean and with all the mod cons. Pool was lovely and never packed despite the size of the complex. Salema itself is very small with not much in it but it's a nice change from the surrounding large resorts. It has a fabulous fish restaurant on the beach and a pretty good pizzareia. Had a very relaxing holiday here. Would recommend it and I would go back. Super resort.

Excellent apartment for a family. 20 minutes walk into town a little longer back as uphill. A small area without a path but road fairly quiet. Probably need a car to carry the shopping if doing a little self catering. Cleaning every day if you let them, with a plentiful supply of towels. A few dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee and a little washing up liquid means the little things don't need to be bought. Even pool towels. Would consider another stay!

Really amazing hotel. Apartments are clean, safe for children, spacious and provided everything we needed. Staff could not do enough to help us. Really conveniently located. Would highly recommend!

Central location

It's a lovely modern hotel. Rooms are fabulous and the property has a rooftop infinity pool with plenty of loungers. The property has a really nice spa with an indoor pool that you pay to use. Food is good and reasonably priced. The property overlooks the river Arade with really nice views of Portimao Marina to the left and Tivoli Marina to the right and the fishing village of Ferragudo straight ahead. Location was great, room and facilities were super clean, bedding was comfy! The restaurant serves great food as well, one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had in a long time!

We had an amazing stay at Atalaia Sol! Our studio apartment was very spacious, if you are at the top floor you can actually see the ocean on a clear day. Pool is amazing and I recommend breakfast as well. Very quiet location and very relaxing. I want to thank the staff for being very attentive and helping us out with everything we needed.
