"Our two night stay at The Gate Hotel was a base for us to go to see Florence but enable us to park our rental car safely and conveniently. We had the feeling this hotel is often used by tour groups which came late and left early. We learnt the best way in to Florence was to park our car at the airport 4km away, and costs €1 then hop on the tram into the city centre €1.70. "Property is well maintained, and has good size accommodation. Room had faulty A/C, and had to open windows to cool off room. Requests were made to front desk but were not considered serious which was disappointing."

"This was our second stay at this hotel and like the first time, it did not disappoint. It is an older hotel but it is kept up pretty well. Breakfast was terrific, as was the staff. The location is great - convenient to the center of town, as well as shopping and restaurants. We come to Montecatini once or twice a year so I hope we can stay here again."

"The first room we received has not been cleaned because the pillows and blankets were all askew, the second room was a smokers room. The third room had a blanket crusty food on it. The housekeepers walked into our room without knocking wanting to clean it, yet we still had an hour and a half for check out. The walls were so thin you can hear absolutely everything from the neighbours and noisy visitors from parties taking place. The elevator smelt like pee. Doubt this place stays afloat from...
