"This place was amazing! We didn’t do too much research before booking our stay here and were blown away. It’s a traditional Italian villa and the location is amazing! A short walk to the centre of Montecatini Alto."
"It was the worst hotel we ever have stayed.
Air conditioner did not work. The manager, a pretty rude old woman, just said: open the windows.
Don't come here. Even for free."
"The booking was easy and the room was clean and comfortable. Really liked the convenience of prepaid parking; the car was in a secure and safe gated area.
The front desk staff was both cordial and courteous. Especially Rafael, had has quite the witty sense of humour.
Thanks to Expedia we found this hotel and I would highly recommend. It made our stay in Montecatini all that much more enjoyable. "
"Everyone was very friendly, specifically the staff at the bar. Breakfast buffet was nice with many options and good coffee. Room was very clean and had a lot of soace. Bathroom was nice with a good shower. Air Conditioner and n the room worked well. Pool could have more sun chairs as it was like all the time crowded during our stay in August. Easy walking distance to bars and restaurants in the center (10 minutes) The Funicolare to Montecantini Alto is also only 15 minutes by feet away. "

"Really good location if you want to stay near to Montecarlo (10 min walk in, with lights and a footpath).
Heating/AC worked very well. Pool was very clean and terrace it is positioned on has a very nice view looking up towards Montecarlo.
Restaurant food was also very nice.
It's a working vineyard, and we saw deliveries of their wine to restaurants nearby and them pick the grapes.
ONLY downside is the Jacuzzi/Hot tub. We came in September when the weather can be a bit hit and miss and a heated hot tub/jacuzzi was what sold it for us but it wasn't usable (the only dirty thing in the place!), and it did not heat up at all. However, I didn't mark down the rating for this but it does need fixing. "
Charming country house on the hills north of Lucca with stunning view
10/10 Excellent
"Our family of six (five adults and a baby) just returned from a truly unforgettable 7-night stay at this extraordinary country house north of Lucca. The views are simply breathtaking...rolling hills, ancient churches, and a medieval hamlet stretch as far as the eye can see, and no photo can capture the magic of sitting by the infinity pool at sunset. The house is a beautifully restored 1700s farmhouse that blends authentic Tuscan charm with modern luxury. Every corner is immaculate and thoughtfully designed. The living spaces are spacious and inviting, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the bedrooms are elegant, comfortable, and serene. Staying here feels like inhabiting a true Tuscan mansion. Our hosts, Dario and Monica, were beyond welcoming. Their warmth, attentiveness, and helpful guidance made everything effortless and enhanced every aspect of our stay. From al fresco meals on the patio to peaceful strolls through the nearby medieval village, every moment felt magical. This property is the ultimate Tuscan retreat, perfectly combining beauty, comfort, and authenticity. We cannot recommend it highly enough and are already dreaming of our next visit."
La Principessa Tuscan farmhouse with pool on wine road of Montecarlo-Lucca
10/10 Excellent
"The farmhouse was perfect for our stay! The layout, with a bathroom for each bedroom, wide open gathering spaces, and a workable kitchen made for a very comfortable stay for us, our adult kids and toddler granddaughter. The farmhouse decor was lovely, and the grounds and pool allowed for plenty of space for relaxation. We very much enjoyed the olive oil tour and tasting, dinner at the associated restaurant, and the easy access to the town of Montecarlo. We did drive to convenient parking to visit the town, because of the winding, hilly road. It is a lively medieval town, with great options for restaurants and strolling the quaint streets. We took day trips to visit Lucca, Pisa, Cinque Terre, the Garfagnana mountain area, and Siena. Communication before and during the trip with Arianna was super helpful! This stay truly made for a magical family experience. "
VILLA VALGIANO a Tuscan Country House among the Vineyards - 12 bedrooms and SPA
10/10 Excellent
"Our group of 22 had the most amazing week at Villa Valgiano. The property is immaculate and well taken care of during your stay. The property manager, Daniela, is incredibly helpful and responsive to all your needs. The rooms are comfortable and with multiple rooms on the first floor, ideal for our older guests. The pool outside is the hit. It bonded our 9 kids and 13 adults together. But, the Roman pool in the basement was also a great hit with the kids. The lemon room was such a perfect space for all 22 of us to eat together. We had Chef Graziela come two nights and her food was outstanding and she put on a great performance. If you have a big group and want common spaces to bond, while enjoying many places to get away, this is the Villa for you. It’s an oasis for travelers. We would return in a heartbeat. "
