"Our host was simply wonderful! I cannot say enough good things about this experience. This was a delightful gathering of friends in Lucca. I definitely recommend having Monica cook a meal for you one night while you stay- you will not be disappointed. I also recommend buying some of Monica's cheeses to enjoy while you are there- they pair perfectly with local meats, and you cannot get fresher cheese than this. Hospitality and responsiveness was wonderful- and they have many great insights on things to experience in the area. This was truly a wonderful and special visit."

"The weather didn’t permit much time in the pool (it was somewhat chilly) but when we did use the pool, it was fabulous. The house was very comfortable and basic amenities were provided. The property manager, Franco, was wonderful. He responded immediately to calls or emails and recommendations were terrific."

"We were 8 adults touring Tuscany and what a fantastic place to stay. We had tons of room, the kitchen is a chef's dream, and the pool was wonderful.The host was great at communication, and helped up find a number of restaurants and wineries.Checkin was easy, and the Villa was exactly as presented in the listing. If you have a small or large group I give this 5 thumbs UP!!!"

"We hosted our entire family and some close friends over a two-week stay in September, and it was an unforgettable joy. Every guest gasped with pleasure upon arrival, and these were almost all seasoned travelers. The villa has enough space to give everyone privacy and also to accommodate gatherings. We had karaoke in the lemon house, yoga on the lawn, wonderful dinners in the dining room, and late-night conversations in the sitting rooms. Looking out of the kitchen windows while preparing dinner was a joy, and my kids all miss that view! Daniela and Paulo were extremely responsive and helpful, and every service we retained e-bikes, masseuses, chefs was terrific, thanks to them. We made memories at Villa Valgiano that will last a lifetime. And we left a little bit of our hearts in Tuscany. A selection of mixing bowls, from small to mid-size, and some mixing spoons, would be great. And maybe a blender? We are serious cooks and missed those tools."

"Our family of six (five adults and a baby) just returned from a truly unforgettable 7-night stay at this extraordinary country house north of Lucca. The views are simply breathtaking...rolling hills, ancient churches, and a medieval hamlet stretch as far as the eye can see, and no photo can capture the magic of sitting by the infinity pool at sunset.The house is a beautifully restored 1700s farmhouse that blends authentic Tuscan charm with modern luxury. "The property was a little tricky to find as it is off the main roads and down a windy, narrow gravel path. It's about a 30 minute drive to Lucca. The private pool is lovely, and all the flowers and succulents are beautiful. Giacomo and Jessica were very responsive when we had questions, and it was wonderful that they let us check in early.Pool towels are provided, but only one bath towel is given per guest for the entire week/stay. Guests should note that hand soap, toilet paper, laundry soap, and other basic items are not provided. You will need to purchase them locally or bring your own. The neighbors in the connected building were rather disruptive (loud conversations at 100 am, their dogs barking during the night). There is an AC unit up and downstairs, and you pay per usage. If you go in peak summer, it will not keep the villa cool so be prepared for very warm days and evenings or pack a fan.Overall, a secluded retreat with a beautiful view and nice pool."
