"Very nice location with views overlooking the town on one side and the sea on the other. It was convenient having the car close to our room. We swam in the private beach, it was nice being away from everyone. The elevator makes getting to town/beach fast and easy. I didn’t realize the private beach however is an added cost. It is €45 per person, per day. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it."

"Beautiful property and location. Everyone on the staff was pleasant and welcoming. Vistamare breakfast and dinner were excellent. Pool and beach area are well kept and inviting. The concierge and reception staff were all first class and provided exemplary service. I would highly recommend this luxurious property if you are staying in or near Santa Margarita Ligure."

"Canadian travellers here! Very convenient location, an easy walk to the water and boardwalk. The room was very spacious for the price point and overall very clean. The view from our balcony was amazing! The towel warmer was rather dirty & rusted (was hard to get a good photo) and should be replaced, and the pool looked to have a lot of dirt settled at the bottom so we did not use either, but other than those, everything was very well maintained. The breakfast was well stocked and good variety. Staff was incredibly friendly. Not sure if we’ll come back to this area but if we do, I’d consider booking a stay here again."

"This is a special property above the beach at Paraggi. It’s a grand old villa, full of charm, antiques, and art, with beautifully landscaped grounds - it feels like you’re stepping back in time. The AC worked well in all the bedrooms. Kitchen was small but well-equipped for cooking and serving meals for our group of 8. Overall the property was very comfortable, but a little rough around the edges here or there (for example one of the showers had a lot of mildew, otherwise the bathrooms felt very clean). The little pool was also very nice to have! From the location, we enjoyed walking down and swimming off the rocks on paraggi cove, and taking the walking path to Portofino."

"Hotel Nazionale Portofino was a wonderful place to stay while visiting Portofino. You simply can’t beat the location—being right in the heart of Portofino made it easy to explore the harbor, restaurants, shops, and nearby walking trails without having to worry about transportation. The staff was consistently warm, welcoming, and friendly throughout our stay. They made us feel genuinely welcome and were always happy to answer questions or help whenever we needed anything. One of the biggest reasons I chose this hotel was that it is truly pet friendly. Traveling with a dog can sometimes be stressful, so it was refreshing to stay somewhere that genuinely accommodates pets. That made a huge difference in our experience and allowed us to fully enjoy our visit. We also visited during an intense heat wave, so the air conditioning was a lifesaver. It kept the room cool and comfortable, making it easy to relax after spending the day exploring in the summer heat. Overall, Hotel Nazionale offered a comfortable stay, excellent hospitality, and an unbeatable location. I would happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and pet-friendly hotel in the heart of Portofino."
