I would like to save. We had a lovely anniversary. We can get away here and it was very pleasant. Great food and a even greater host the lady rose. Was.
So helpful an a lovely person made us feel so welcome and looked after.
Lovely bed and room no complaints.
Its a really nice place, clean and good. Staff are polite and very good. There is a farm shop just across the road from it and if you don't want to use the Indian Restaurant there is a great pub down the road that also does good food and drink. Would return,
A good place to stay while working in the area. Good dinner and good breakfast. The Indian restaurant on the ground floor is a good option for dinner with a good menu.
The room was warm nice and comfy. Good bathroom with a good shower.
Getting there by public transport is a bit tricky especially after dark, but possible.

Okay
Accommodation was okay, the bar was okay but expensive. The restaurant was empty but apparently the food is amazing.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Disliked: Staff & service
Perfectly adequate but needs some TLC.
Place looked great, the rooms were lovely and spacious and the bed was comfortable. However, you look a bit closer and the whole place just looks a bit tired - the net curtains on the windows had tears in and had been “repaired” with a stapler, the window frames themselves were rotting and there were gaps around some edges of the glass where the putty was missing. The corner of the sink unit in the bathroom had worn off with the veneer missing and the fibreboard exposed. Plus general bits in the corridors like rusting radiators and walls needing a bit of paint.
Also was quite a challenge to find any staff at the front desk, had to wait a few mins upon arriving until someone appeared (no bell or anything). When we had a query later we had to wander around to find someone and there was just a box for keycards on checkout, no staff at all. The website also said there were complimentary bottles of water in the room type that we booked, but there weren’t, and they apparently didn’t have any, so we bought our own from a nearby supermarket.
Also they weren’t doing any breakfast “because the chef was on holiday”. Luckily there’s a Beefeater about 2 mins drive away the other side of the dual carriageway and they were great for breakfast.
The place was perfectly adequate for what we needed - just a place to sleep after a family event, but it needs a good renovation and better staffing. (Staff we interacted with were friendly and polite but might be better with more of them).

It was clean the room was clean and tidy bathroom was excellent. The saff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little bit disappointing they should add some croissants to the selection. Location was excellent for us to visit family in Wantage over all we had a lovely weekend
Wi-Fi wasn’t the best, my colleague had a hair in her breakfast and she had a really poor apology and was not offered anything off her stay, evening food (Indian) was gorgeous but the sizes of the meals were quite small, they should increase the portions and price. Downstairs were decorated very nice but rooms are aged, mine had a radiator in the bathroom that had metal bubbling / peaking at the bottom, rooms need a deep clean, window sill rotten and bad marks on walls, the shower curtain as dirty/ moulding on the bottom edge and the rail of the shower curtain was bubbling and rusted
I booked this hotel as it was a 4*, it should be 2* at a push. Incredibly disappointed with the hotel and the service. We had breakfast included when booking, only to find out when we checked in that they don’t serve breakfast.
The hotel was a refreshing change from the usual "chain" hotels.
The staff were excellent.
The on-site Indian restaurant was very good. The breakfast was also good, limited choice but still very good!

had to speak about breakfast yet was said included in the price but they said they don’t do it on a weekend which i think is ridiculous
Didn't partake in the food, smelling it through the building was bad enough. Thought I was in for a treat stopping in the main house but ushered outside to an annex building and the communal area was quite poor.
Room was OK, shower was the smallest I have been in for a long while and there was no extract fan in there so had to open the window. TV was very small and the remote control was disgustingly dirty. Not a lot of sound protection between the rooms so heard a full conversation of someone below or to the side for an hour. Check out is 11am but someone was knocking on my door at 09:30, bang went my lie in!
I really didn't enjoy my stay. The room looked ok when i first went in but i quickly noticed the poor standard of maintenance. The large leak above the bath, the curtains with holes in, the kettle not working, shelves falling to bits etc
My evening meal was disappointing and the breakfast was poor. There was a lack of staff which resulted in dirty tables

A nice room, although showing a lot of wear and tear. Needs a spruce up. Could be a lot more attention to detail as there was cobwebs above the shower and by the door. The extractor fan in the bathroom was very noisy but didn’t stay on too long so wasn’t too annoying. It was very cold in the room went I first went in as the radiator was off. Would be nice if it would be turned on to a low setting prior to my arrival just to take the chill off. Despite these minor negatives I would stay again but would see what else is available in the area first.

Goed ontvangst, goede kamer, fijn bed met meerdere kussens. Paar zaken die stuk zijn waaronder vitrage en wastafelmeubel. Indiaas eten, erg lekker maar zeer kleine porties. Normale prijzen voor drank. Zeer karig continental ontbijt. Met keuze menu
