"Overall, we had a good stay, and the staff throughout the hotel were friendly, respectful, and helpful—especially Francisco, who provided outstanding service and made our mornings enjoyable. Because of employees like him, I'm still giving this hotel 3 stars. However, for a hotel charging approximately **$500 per night**, the cleanliness was disappointing. The biggest issue was the rooftop pool during the Fourth of July celebration. The pool water was extremely cloudy and appeared dirty. It was so unappealing that I would not have let my children swim in it. During the four hours we spent at the pool, not once did we see a staff member cleaning tables, picking up trash, or maintaining the area. Instead, employees spent much of their time standing around and using their phones while trash and used towels accumulated. The windows surrounding the pool were also filthy. They were so dirty that we had to use our own towels to wipe the glass just so we could enjoy the view and watch the fireworks. That should never be necessary at a hotel of this caliber. Our guest room also needed much more attention. There was noticeable dust throughout the room, and my wife experienced allergy symptoms for hours after we left. Housekeeping needs to pay much closer attention to detail. The hotel has great potential, and the customer service from most employees was excellent. "Hotel staff was excellent. Valet needs more education about surrounding area - could not assist with directions when asked. Housekeeping was excellent and cleaned our room just as quickly as we exited for the day. Room service attendants were friendly and professional. Restaurant food was nice. One of our favorite places to stay on the River Walk."

"Toby and Dale at the front desk were absolutely attentive, polite and super helpful to me and my family staying at the penthouse suite. The maintenance gentleman absolutely made it a priority to address the issue of the ac acting up a bit but it was corrected fast. Toby and Daley outperformed themselves with accommodating my families staying there. Valet was a challenge but the GM at Maverick (Ms Bianca) made sure it was taken care of and even treated us to dinner for the inconvenience. She addressed me professionally and made our stay there that much better. Elevator worked smooth and the room was extremely clean and the rooftop patio was breathtaking at night. Highly recommend and I will be staying here again I guarantee it! Everything is very close to walk to and visit. Thanks Maverick for the memories"
