"Hotel is very nice and in a good location for access to downtown and the riverwalk. Very clean and well maintained. Just be aware that if you choose to valet park with them, it's $70(inc. tax) and a $22 "destination fee". Not to mention the other ridiculous fees which come to about 40% of the posted room rate by itself. However, I'm sure every hotel in SA is charging the same fees. In total it was about an extra $150 with all that added to the base room rate. If you can try parking a block or so away in a public parking garage for WAY less. Just a heads up! Room was very spacious and clean with a partial city/riverwalk view. Only stayed one night for a concert but had breakfast in restaurant and it was great. Staff was very helpful and friendly."

"Firstly, I want to say a massive thank you to Todd at the front desk. After a long drive from Houston, being totally unfamiliar with Texas and the States, as my wife and I are from the UK and were on our honeymoon - he went above and beyond for us, to rectify a slight room discrepancy we encountered on arrival. The booking options on the listing did not differentiate between a city view option vs a standard option. We had expected a city view based on the photos shown when selecting the room. Upon check in, we went to a 3rd floor room with an alley/fire escape view. He very swiftly addressed this with no hassle, moving us to a beautiful room with stunning views, and escalated the website listing to his team. He gave us some good local recommendations, and some complimentary vouchers for Voodoo doughnuts just next door! He made this an easy fix for us and made us feel so welcome. All the staff throughout our stay were great, and helped when in need. The room was well fitted and furnished, very new and clean. The property has great amenties, and a speakeasy style bar with live comedy downstairs! Very walkable with access to bars, restaurants, and to the SanAn River walk and Alamo. A great location and a lovely historic building - which has been modernised and newly fitted, whilst retaining its historic charm. Thanks to the team for a lovely stay, would happily stay with you again on a return trip, and highly recommend*****"
