"The home was very peaceful and secluded. While it was much larger than we needed for only two people, it provided the privacy that we were seeking. The setting was beautiful. Carpets were a bit worn but everything else seemed clean and orderly. Unfortunately, we had two major issues that were very frustrating and difficult to resolve. Upon arrival the fire pit would not light and the gas grill was so dirty we had to take the elements out in order to get it to light. After a lengthy texting session, sending video three times to two numbers (we requested a telephone call but that was not provided) we were able to light the fire pit but it would not light again the next day. The third day they sent a maintenance person while we were there even though we requested they wait until we left. He was very nice and repaired the fire pit and agreed that the grill had major issues. While these may seem to be minor issues, they were certainly not something we wanted to deal with during our visit and were very frustrating... nothing like these types of issues to ruin a large part of one's day... on vacation. Since our departure, I have sent two queries regarding our difficulties and have received no response. No form of regret for the way this was handled, no appreciation for our difficulties... nothing. So, bottom line... as long as everything is working properly, I would recommend a stay. It is a beautiful, peaceful setting. Just hope that everything is working properly or you will experience much frustration in the handling and resolution of the problem."

"We have rented many times from SHVR and all of those rentals have been great. But this house takes the cake as the best so far. Views of 14ers and valleys from the patio (and from in the living room) were the best in the area. The house is well laid out and has everything you would need for a great stay. Beds are brand new and super-comfy, and there is tons of seating for everyone in the living and eating areas. Would stay here again!"

"The cabin was wonderful! We spent most of our week at the cabin relaxing and it was such a comfortable and pleasant space to be! The kitchen was probably one of the best appointed rental kitchens we have ever had and we were able to cook most of our meals at home. Even though we were there in the peak of summer, we were able to open the windows and keep the cabin very comfortable. There were so many nice little touches that made the place so homey. The location was also very nice - remote enough to feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere, but also 10 minutes to Fairplay if you want dinner. Loved our time here."

"Entertainment was provided by daily visits from rabbits, robins, swallows and wolves crooning at night. Views were fantastic and neighborhood was soooo quiet. The cabin was great and the loft bed was super comfy. Sounds of running water was so enjoyable. Being from Texas, we were happy two nights that it was too cold to sit outside ! I would recommend this rental."

Beautiful Pet Friendly Alma Home: MTN Views

"This is probably the best vacation rental I have stayed in for quite some time. It is surrounded by beautiful Evergreen and Aspen trees. We loved staying in this home while doing some hiking. The home is exactly as you see it in the photos. Exceptionally clean and well kept. Kitchen was well equipped and supplied. We were able to hike 14ners in very close proximity and a couple of other wonderful hikes. We saw Moose and two five-point bucks. The host was very responsive. She even responded while sitting in the dentist chair! An unexpected bonus was the World Championship Burro Race in Fairplay the first weekend we arrived. I read the book “Running with Sherman” earlier this year so this was a funny coincidence! Amazing stay. Wish we were still there."

"The property was excellent. Very secluded, the cabin was the perfect size for our group and the hot tub was an excellent addition. We saw wildlife everyday we were there, including a moose, and got some excellent pictures. We would definitely stay again."
