The reason we keep returning is the convenience of walking down the beach to the dive shop, having a full size kitchen and individual bedrooms for everyone. There are no amenities to speak of. No restaurant, no bar, no spa, the beach chairs have seen better days but so has the beach. The sea grass is nothing Grand Colony can help but it does make the ocean unswimable. "When we came 8 years ago there were more amenities. We were a little disappointed to see that they no longer had the swim-up bar overlooking the water and you couldn't charge anything to your room. You always have to have your money with you. Lots of construction and changes happening. They should at least warn anyone trying to book. Overall, we still enjoyed our time there. Hard to have a bad time on Ambergris Caye. "
