"A lovely hotel in the heart of Ambleside. Our balcony room was in an annexe just a few steps from the main hotel. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the outdoor jacuzzi in the spa was a lifesaver in the immense heat we have just had. The food in the restaurant was lovely, breakfast was a continental buffet and hot from the menu and the dinner choice was very good and well priced."

"Can't fault the hotel in the slightest. When we arrived, we were informed that there was loud music on that evening until 11pm. Not the end of the world, but with two young children on their last legs at that point, it wouldn't have been ideal. After informing us they had no alternative rooms further away from above the main stage, the staff were able to secure us a room at their sister hotel The Waterdge Inn. Everything was transferred seamlessly, and for no extra cost. They didn't have to do that. There was absolutely no obligation to do it, and yet they offered the chance, and they sorted it out for us. Can't rate the hotel itself, however if the facilities and accommodation are anything like he staff, then anyone would have a wonderful time here."

"Lovely place with good facilities, older property so our room was spacious, bed comfortable and good bathroom. A little noisy for the dog as we were on the ground floor next to reception. Limited parking outside the property but able to park across the road overnight until 10:00 am. Overall lovely stay."

"Very nice hotel with lovely well kept lawns and a stunning view of the lake. Staff are very professional and courteous. Everyone I encountered was friendly, hardworking working and clearly wanted the guests to have a really enjoyable and valued stay at the hotel. The cleanliness of the room was exceptional. Very good housekeeping team. The spa was nice to use after a days cycling and hiking. The hotel also provides guided local walking routes that are nice to do from the hotel. The hotel has easy access to Grasmere village so able to walk from the hotel into the village for a coffee and delicious ice-cream. Ambleside was also very accessible via the local bus route so no need to use the car for exploring the immediate local area. We stayed for four nights so able to totally relax and be rejuvenated. Good breakfast and dinner options available. There is ample space to relax and fully enjoy the beautiful countryside that inspired Wordsworth poetry."

"Excellent hotel with friendly staff, great breakfast, a fan in the room to help with the hot weather. Good tea and coffee. Free parking and a great view of the Lake, close to Ambleside and from the room the mountains were clearly visible. Fantastic!!"
