"A short shuttle ride from the ferry terminal brought us to a beautifully ornate lobby, the kind that makes you stand a little straighter so you don’t look like the scruffy tourist you actually are. Check‑in was quick, and came with a cold welcome drink, always a promising start. Although check‑in is normally at 2 PM, we’d taken the early ferry to avoid the afternoon seas, which tend to get a bit too enthusiastic. The staff had a beachfront room ready almost immediately. The location is absolutely fantastic. Waves rolling onto the shore made for a relaxing backdrop, and while the occasional bit of traffic drifted by, it never really intruded. The room was spotless, fresh, cool, and not a single mosquito or mystery insect lurking in a corner. The air conditioner worked perfectly, the fridge kept our drinks cold, and we had three pools to choose from. That’s two more than I usually need. Breakfast was warm, hygienic, and offered plenty of variety. The restaurant was good and reasonably priced, which is always a pleasant surprise when you’re staying somewhere with a stunning view. And the staff, friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. Five stars for them alone. A few small dogs may wander the beach, all healthy and harmless. We’ll definitely be back. "Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Our plunge pool was amazing. Clean and well maintained. The pool overlooking the beach was really nice. Breakfast was yummy and staff were very friendly and helpful. Location and beach view were perfect. We will be back to stay again. "

"The pool was fabulous and romantic, the room was spacious, 4 nice pillows and comfortable king bed, great air conditioning, romantic outdoor bathroom (totally private in stone enclosure) with rubber plants. room made up daily. free drinking water and free ice at the bar. mini fridge for our fruit and drinks. The restaurant was a little over priced but it is a 4 minute walk to the main street with many inexpensive restaurants and local bars. My favorite place to eat was ACK chicken similar to KFC but extremely cheap, fresh chicken processed daily never frozen (it is illegal in Bali to serve previously frozen chicken at restaurants). Take a grab (Asia's Uber) from the airport (2.5 hour drive) then take grabs to tour the island to see waterfall's and temples."

"My wife and I spent two nights at the incredible Samanvaya Resort. Unfortunately this was at the end of our time in Bali, or we likely would have changed plans so we could stay longer. Everything was perfect, from the incredible restaurants to the views. Waking up in our own little villa overlooking the rice terraces was a special experience every morning. The staff deserve an 11/10, going the extra distance to help out at any opportunity. Highly highly recommended!"

"Really loved our stay at Batu Kerang. Had a one bed villa - no. 9 - which was spacious, stylish and well laid out. The outside terrace was much bigger than we expected with a day bed, table and chairs and an amazing view. The property is beautifully landscaped and designed on a steep hill, but if we were ever too knackered to make the walk up to our villa, there was always a buggy around to take us there. We enjoyed using the upper pools and gym where there’s so much space. The breakfasts were probably the best we had throughout our trip in Bali and it was nice not to be charged extra for a non standard coffee. We had dinner twice at the poolside restaurant and the food was exceptional. Special mention for service. We had issues with some of the electrics in our villa and this was dealt with promptly. Also, my partner mentioned to them that our arrival had left something to be desired; when we arrived at the top gate, we were told to wait in a small, airless room ( think it was the security hut) until someone arrived to collect us and when we decided to have a little look around the property we were brusquely told not to wander off by a security guard. A day or so later we were presented w a voucher for two free cocktails and told that they appreciated being told as that way they could try and improve this for future guests. That’s how you do service. "

"Beautiful, cozy, clean room and wonderful location. The front desk staff was professional and kind and the guest relations lady, Sonia (?), was delightful. The only disappointment was that despite receiving an upgrade that came with a small private garden, the room did not have any view, which is a shame in such a beautiful location."
