"This historic hotel is located in the heart of Appenzell and has a lovely restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. It is a short walk from the train station, is clean and charming and rooms have comfortable beds and bedding. The included breakfast is plentiful and delicious with good coffee :) The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating - when we had to check out very early at the end of our stay, they packed us a delicious lunch to take with us on the train the night before we left since we would miss the morning breakfast. Travellers should note that there is no AC due to preservation rules for all hotels/historic buildings in Appenzell - when we came there was a heat wave so it was unusually hot, but we opened our windows at night and it cooled our room off enough so we could sleep. We highly recommend Gasthaus Hof!"

"Traumhaft schöne Unterkunft mit mega Blick in die Berge. Es hat an gar nichts gefehlt. Meine beste Empfehlung und supergerne wieder.Ein Ort zum Sein, zum Erholen und bestens für Outdoor-Aktivitäten. Ruhig gelegen und dennoch nur ein paar Gehminuten nach Appenzell.Ein Volltreffer!"

"5/5 ⭐️ We absolutely loved the city of Appenzell and this sweet Swiss hotel! Hotel Säntis has so much charm and was one of our favorite stays during our 12-day trip through Switzerland. The room was a really good size, although the bathroom was a little small. Nothing unbearable, though, and overall the room was very comfortable. The location is perfect—right in the middle of town, making it incredibly easy to walk around and explore Appenzell. The restaurant was also great for dinner, but the breakfast buffet was incredible! Everything was very fresh, and the setup was excellent. And the staff deserves a special shoutout. They were incredibly kind and welcoming—probably the nicest staff we encountered during our entire 12 days in Switzerland! We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay at Hotel Säntis again when we return to Appenzell. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a charming Swiss hotel in the heart of town!"

"The apartment is conveniently located a 10 minute walk from the train station, a 5 minute walk from the center of town in Appenzell, and just about a 7 minute walk to grocery stores/supermarkets. The host em was very responsive and helpful, and provided us with the info we needed for a great stay. The apartment was perfect for our family of four (with teenagers) visiting the Appenzell area. It is located on an upper floor of the building with both elevator and stair access. The entry to the apartment building is accessible from a paved walkway that runs behind the building, as there is a business that operates on the street side of the building’s first floor. The apartment was clean and welcoming with plenty of space for us to feel at home. The well-stocked kitchen was a comfortable size to prepare meals and the balcony was a great place to spend the evening with some fresh air. The two bedrooms were comfortable and provided plenty of space for our luggage and ourselves. While the large living area provided a place to gather and relax. Overall our stay at this apartment in Appenzell was a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area."

"The Hotel Appenzell is absolutely charming! The central location on the plaza is excellent, with a view to activities going on in town. It's conveniently right next to the Tourist Info center. The staff was cheerful and helpful. They responded promptly to requests, such as for a fan in our room. The room was delightful. It was bigger than other rooms we stayed in in Switzerland, and it was decorated in a charming, white and gold french style, with crystal ceiling lights, and big windows that open for airflow. This room made us feel like we were in old Europe, not IKEA. Breakfast was good, but not special. The outdoor patio for morning dining was very pleasant. We also had dinner here one night which we thought was excellent."

"Great location, place was well stocked either spices, appliances, etc. washer and dryer were great! Lotsa resources provided.. check in with email an issue, but resolved quickly and efficiently! Would stay here again!"
