"Small bedroom and very small bathroom. Hotel generally very old and tired. Breakfast very poor with very little choice. Convenient location with a quick walk to the town.

"La Mezzaluna is a short walk from Barga Gallicano train station, and buses to Lucca. Rita is amazingly hospitable & welcoming, and did so much to make our stay enjoyable. Rooms are very nice, buffet breakfast set us up for the day.
There is a bus up to Barga during the day, and a taxi back in evening. If you visit Barga, this is the place to stay. "

"After a curious approach. The owner met us there and showed us around. It was a very quite, beautiful mountain apartment. Details outdoors were evident and comfort inside was great. This is just a peaceful beautiful place which capped of our italian tour perfectly. To return i would stay at least 3 nights. It is worth it. The area is stunning with many things to do"

"The food at the restaurant was terrible.
I ordered a bottle of wine and they sent another that was 3 times the price without telling me.
They threw us out because they said they had to set up for breakfast while they had other tables still sitting. We were still drinking our wine.
The only person that was nice at this place was the person at reception.

Villa Iris with private pool, 4 bedrooms, panoramic view, walk to restaurant
8/10 Good
"Owner Enrico has been really helpfull and friendly. The Villa is on 4 levels (one for the pool, 3 for the building floors) which gives you more privacy but also makes it harder to stay together if that's what your group wants. 1 restroom for each room is a luxury. However, they they would need some renovations, as wel as the kitchen.Great common areas such as outside patio, inner dining room and big sofa areas. Beautiful landscape. Overall very good if you are looking for a rustic retreat in the countryside"
Newly Restore Barn With Private Pool View Of hills, 4/5 bedrooms 5 bathrooms
10/10 Excellent
"This property was perfect for our multi-generation family holiday. The pool was a particular hit, with big wide long steps for the kids to play on but deep enough for the adults to enjoy. Plenty of shaded area for sitting outside and enjoying the scenery. The hosts were charming and helpful. "
Country villa with private pool and garden great for families, groups
10/10 Excellent
"We had such a great time staying there. The house, a typical rustic Italian house, is well located for daytrips to Florence or Pise, and we really enjoyed the private pool and garden, which was ideal for our family and our kids. They could run freely around the house. The pool is fully fenced which was a big plus too.Andrea is lovely and communication with him was really easy."
Private pool, WIFI, walking distance facilities. Electric car charging point
10/10 Excellent
"We did not know Italy at all before this stay, and wanted somewhere not too busy with tourists - this villa turned out to be perfect! The villa itself was great - big, well appointed, and cool in the day. There was so much space outside, plus the beautiful pool. There is a footpath that goes to a small stream and then the village, and it was great to be able to walk to the bar / bakery / restaurant. Recommend Il Pozzo! We were a bit surprised when a few dogs found their way into the garden but then realised the footpath runs behind the large hedge (you can’t see people, but do hear them and see their dogs sometimes) Not a problem but given the otherwise remoteness of the villa, it can give you a start to suddenly hear voices! We found it easy to get out and about - we did Cinque Terre one day (not to be missed!) and also very much enjoyed Castiglione, the village just up the hill. Access into the villa’s driveway is a bit tight but we soon got used to it, and worth it for the peacefulness of the villa at the end of the track. Loriana was there to welcome us on arrival and was easily contacted if we needed anything (we didn’t but good to know). We would love to come again to this area, and would not hesitate to book this villa again."
