About this property

*NEW* Large Luxury Garden Terrace Suite in South Downs

  • A spacious ground-floor suite where period character meets contemporary comfort. Unwind beside the log burner, open the doors to a huge private garden terrace with lounge and dining space, or enjoy orchard views from the stylish sitting room. With a king-size bed, additional double sofa bed, beautiful kitchen, luxurious wet-room shower, fast Wi-Fi and free parking, it is an easy countryside escape just a 20-minute riverside walk from Arundel.

Generous proportions, original character and a wonderful connection to the gardens make Suite 2 a particularly special place to escape.

This large, double-aspect ground-floor suite combines the character of the original Victorian house with beautifully considered contemporary interiors. Period details and a log burner bring warmth and atmosphere to the living space, while views across the orchard gardens provide a constant reminder that you are staying in the Sussex countryside.

The real highlight is the huge private terrace. Overlooking the gardens and edged with herb planting, it gives you your own outdoor living space complete with comfortable lounge and dining furniture. Start the morning with coffee outside, enjoy a leisurely lunch in the garden or settle in with a drink as the evening draws in.

Inside, there is plenty of space to properly make yourself at home. A stylish sitting area gives you somewhere to relax away from the bed, while the dining area makes everything from a quick breakfast to a relaxed dinner feel easy. There is also a double sofa bed suitable for one adult or two small children.

The beautiful modern kitchen is fully stocked for your stay, with a hob, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave with oven function, cookware, kettle, and everything you need for the freedom of self-catering. A starter pack of tea and coffee is provided in your suite, and guests are also able to purchase speciality coffees and luxury hot chocolate from the machine in the lobby area.

At the end of the day, settle into a comfortable king-size bed or relax in front of the Smart TV with access to streaming services. High-speed Wi-Fi makes it equally easy to stay connected when you need to.

The spacious wet-room bathroom has been designed with both style and practicality in mind, finished with a luxurious drench shower.

    ★ Thoughtfully accessible

Suite 2 is also wheelchair accessible, with a carefully adapted kitchen and wet-room bathroom. These accessibility features have been integrated into the overall interior design, so the suite retains the same warm, stylish and residential feel throughout.

Suite 2 works beautifully for a romantic countryside break, a longer stay where extra living space and your own kitchen make all the difference, a Goodwood weekend, a walking or cycling escape, or simply a few days spent slowing down in the Sussex countryside.

    The Local Area:

Sefton Place is tucked away in the peaceful Sussex countryside on the edge of Arundel and the South Downs, surrounded by meadows, wildlife and the beautiful Arun Valley. It feels wonderfully secluded, yet historic Arundel is close enough to reach on foot. One of our favourite ways into town is the scenic walk alongside the River Arun, which takes around 20 minutes and brings you into the heart of Arundel.

    Once there, you will find:

    • Arundel Castle and Cathedral – two of the most recognisable landmarks in Sussex and the dramatic backdrop to this beautiful historic town

    • Independent shops, galleries and antiques – Arundel is known for its characterful streets, independent businesses, art galleries and antique shops

    • Excellent places to eat and drink – from relaxed cafes and traditional pubs to independent restaurants, wine bars and places for a special dinner

    • South Downs walks and cycling – leave Sefton Place and head straight into the surrounding countryside, with beautiful routes through the Arun Valley, rolling hills, woodland and traditional Sussex villages

There is plenty to explore a little further afield too. Goodwood is within easy driving reach, making Sefton Place a fantastic base for its internationally renowned calendar of motorsport and horse racing, including the Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and Goodwood Racecourse. This is also one of the most exciting wine regions in Britain. The chalk landscapes of the South Downs are home to some of the country`s most celebrated English sparkling wine producers, including award-winning Wiston Estate, where you can book vineyard and winery tours, tastings and dining experiences.

For a change of scenery, Chichester, the Sussex coast and the wider South Downs National Park are all within easy reach, opening up everything from beaches and coastal walks to culture, countryside pubs and days spent exploring picturesque Sussex villages.

What makes Sefton Place special is the balance: countryside and nature outside the door, Arundel within walking distance, and some of the best experiences in West Sussex close enough for an effortless day out. Whether you are here for a romantic weekend, walking or cycling, a Goodwood event, an English wine escape, a wedding or simply a few slower days in the countryside, it is an exceptional base from which to discover this corner of Sussex.
