Rent a golf cart to explore this charming island town with its colourful harbour full of bobbing boats. Snorkel the crystal-clear waters of Lover's Cove or take the glass-bottom boat tour to spot bright orange Garibaldi fish swimming below.
Avalon is a quiet place. Everything dies after the cruise ships leave. When the cruise ships arrive, restaurants and shops stay open late. The downside of it is that the island gets crowded and have to wait for service even renting a golf car

Avalon has several very, very good hikes high in the hills above Avalon. The Zip Line is also a great experience. As an island surrounded by the sea, there are several very tasty seafood restaurants available. Lunch and Dinner.

The harbor is pretty. I enjoyed the historical architecture and the food but it is very small and the golf carts are quite loud and have exhaust fumes.

Avalon is darling. Safe, walkable, lots to see, do, shop for and hike. Definitely worth a trip over from the mainland for 2 days or more.

Watch out for certain times of day (like when the BIG cruise ships come, around 9-4pm ish), because that's when downtown Avalon feels incredibly crowded (think Vegas). It dies down once the cruise tourists leave, and you have a quaint seaside resort.

Avalon was beautiful and walkable even during the off season. I felt hospitality was inconsistent when patronizing businesses and some employees seemed annoyed. Most locals and fellow vacationers were friendly. We enjoyed the scenery most of all.

Charming tile town, use of primarily golf carts not cars and the charming people are the best
"Our room was so cute and we even had a jet tub! Just what I needed after a couple days of camping. The location is perfect and walkable to everything and the rooftop fuse was a bonus. Staff was really nice and allowed us to store our luggage. "
"The cafe with seating area was very pleasant, and there was a good live band while we were there on a weeknight. Filling out water bottles was nice, plenty of towels for spa and beach, and a good continental breakfast as well. Thank you!"
"We were supposed to just leave our luggages and was able to check in early so that was a relief!
Staff was great!
Room had a fridge, microwave, stove, pots and pans, plates and cups, kcups for coffee, and a TV. Outside area has a grilling station and cute hangout spot.
It was also clean! Would come back here again."
"This place is in a perfect location. Around the corner from the main strip but everything is in walking distance. Less than 10 min walk from the Catalina Express"
