Head out on the public footpath leading from the neighbouring sheep field and explore this stunning area on foot. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy being situated between the Blackdown Hills and East Devon and Dorset Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Alternatively, jump in the car and in under 9 miles you can visit the coastal town of Lyme Regis, famed for its fossil hunting and a fantastic selection of independent shops and eateries. Foodies are well-catered for with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage HQ close-by in Axminster, as well as local farmers’ markets and independent shops. Just outside of Chard, approx. 6 miles away is the award winning Cotley Inn, serving wonderful food and local ales. Bridport is a short drive away and offer bespoke shopping and the famed eclectic antiques market at the weekends.
Overlooking the rolling hills of East Devon, this delightful cottage is a quaint yet spacious retreat with stunning valley views. It boasts vaulted ceilings with exposed beams of the original orchard storehouse. Inside this charming cottage, you will find stylish decor staying true to traditional design values. The impressive main room provides an enjoyable area for dining, cooking and relaxing, whether you are starting or finishing your day of adventure from this Devonshire gem. The lounge area is a home from home with 2 comfortable sofas and complete with a reading lamp, Smart TV and a bookcase filled with local information and literature, as well as games and binoculars for looking further into the picturesque valley. Located beside this, is a relaxed dining area and beautifully presented kitchen with well thought out appliances and tableware, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge with ice compartment. As the cottage is arranged on one level, the next room is the stunning dual-aspect bedroom with a super-king-size bed. Draw back the curtains on the window and French doors to admire the landscape from the comfort of your bed. Completing the offering to your stay is a contemporary shower room with WC. The utility area is also a marvellous use of space with a washing machine and dryer, coat racks and utility cupboard. And just outside the stable split door, there is a boot rack and a brush area for cleaning off your boots or sand-covered accessories.
Two sets of French doors lead from the main living area onto a wild bordered, suntrap patio to use at your leisure. Admire the view or use the seating area for morning coffee and al fresco meals.
