The lagoon view is spectacular from inside the rooms. You can swim and kayak from a few steps from your cabin. It’s a safe, private hotel. The staff were very friendly, helpful and always available to assist. They don’t have a restaurant only a small bar with limited access to order drinks but they will order food and deliver to your room promptly from local restaurants. Rooms are comfortable with great shower pressure, mini refrigerator, comfortable beds and AC that kept the room at a nice temperature at night.

The property is located just off the main highway, accessible via a short dirt road, offering a quiet and peaceful setting away from traffic. The lagoon area was also very nice and well maintained. The property itself was clean and well kept. The outdoor bar was a highlight, serving excellent ceviche and aguachile at very reasonable prices.

Great location with privacy, modern rooms. For couples por family. A marvelous safe swimable and perfect depth tó be stand up. The amazing view room from the bed . Great internet and the room just a f6 meters from the lake. Breakfast included and a walking 3 minute walking distance from the famous cenote azul. Marvelous location.

A great place to disconnect

Multi-cabin (4 I think) hotel right on a beautiful part of the lagoon. The rooms were clean. Beds were a bit firm and water pressure was very low (sink and shower) but those are the only two negatives. You'll need a car or be willing to bike to get food or do any activities beyond a kayak.

Mr.David was the most gracious host. I checked in very late, last minute and he greeted me with a friendly smile and when I asked if the tiki was open he said no BUT then went behind the bar (as the owner can) and found me a cold beverage after my long day of travel. And breakfast was delivered to my room the next morning again with a friendly smile. Room was spotless and in meticulous condition. Cannot wait to go back again. Mr.David was amazing, highly recommend to anyone who loves Bacalar.

Title: Our Little Piece of Heaven on Earth ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My family and friends rented the entire resort at Maya Playa for four days, and it was everything we hoped for and more. Our goal was simple: relax, recharge, and spend quality time together. Maya Playa delivered on every level. One of my favorite touches was waking up each morning to fresh-cut fruit delivered by the staff. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a wonderful way to start the day. The team was incredibly attentive, and communication was always quick and seamless. No request was too small, and they consistently made us feel well taken care of. We also loved that amenities such as paddle boarding and kayaking were available for us to enjoy at no extra cost. It gave us the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure whenever we wanted it. Another highlight was the convenience of the tours. We booked an excursion, and the tour company picked us up directly from the property, making the entire experience effortless and stress-free. From the peaceful surroundings to the exceptional hospitality, Maya Playa exceeded our expectations. After just four days, it felt like we had discovered our own little piece of heaven on Earth. We left refreshed, happy, and already talking about our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to truly unwind and reconnect with what matters most. 🌴☀️💙

Absolutely stunning lake front property withe beautiful clear and warm water. The hotel is small and quaint with only 4 rooms, each in it individual hutch. Service was great. The only downsize is there is no restaurant in the property, except for the cold bar. Don’t let this discourage you. The cold bar serves a few delicious dishes and one of the guacamole that I had in Mexico. The service is top notch from the cold bar stuff and the front desk. You won’t regret booking this place.

If you are in Bacalar this is a must stay. Best beach on the lake is located here where it's one of the few spots with a sandy walk in beach, impressive water color, and cool pier. It is a small property with only 4 cabins so very peaceful and relaxing. Cabins were very modern with great AC. It is a short drive to the center of town, definitely recommend a car if you are staying. Staff was very helpful with coordinating restaurant deliveries if you don't feel like leaving. Irving at the bar was great and made the best aguachile I have ever had.

Feels like it was brand new facilities. Rooms are individual bungalow, spacious. AC works. Beautiful view of the lake. We can hear the water with the door open, mosquito screen closed. There are only 4 units. There are kayaks and pedal boards to use. Hammocks on the dock, although should add more seating there. There's no restaurants on site, but not too far from town to go get breakfast. Coffee was at the front desk area. Staff there was nice, friendly.

BEWARE!! Credit Card Fraud and False Advertising I was ready to leave a glowing 10/10 review, but unfortunately, I can’t recommend this property. My credit card was used fraudulently by a local restaurant— I use one card for hotel expenses and a separate one for meals and incidentals. The information of that card was only accessible to the property staff. The card was actually packed in my suitcase when I ate lunch at La Playita (suggested over and over to me by the hotel host). I’m currently in the process of reporting this to Profeco. Also, the property is NOT private beach as advertised. Despite marketing a “private beach” - they sell day passes to the public, turning the space into a crowded beach club until 6PM. As a guest, you don’t private have access to key amenities like the dock, and the peaceful, exclusive experience they promise just doesn’t exist. Be very cautious booking here!!

Tiene una ubicación excepional, frente a la laguna, la habitación es amplia y cómoda. Tiene una TV de unas 50 pulgadas y algunos canales con programas variados, aire acondicionado y dos ventiladores de techo. No me gustó que una ocasión, no tendieron una cama. La limpieza del baño puede ser mejor, ví algunos insectos pequeños muertos. Tienen una fuga de agua y un muro está mojado.

Nous sommes allés en famille au Mayan Playa Bacalar. Nous avons tous beaucoup apprécié notre séjour. De par sa taille, il y a peu de logements, nous nous sommes sentis comme seuls au monde. L'endroit est juste magnifique. A notre disposition une chambre juste splendide qui donne directement sur la lagune. Des transats, des hamacs, des kayaks et des paddles mis à disposition. Juste une précision, l'établissement n'offre pas de service de restauration sur place, nous avions une voiture de location donc ce n'était pas un problème si ce n'est pas votre cas, il faudra compter sur des services de livraison ou retourner dans le centre de Bacalar. En tout cas, n'hésitez pas. c'es vraiment un endroit de rêve!

Precioso lugar, apartado del bullicio, muy tranquilo para descansar. El único detalle es que no cuenta con restaurante y está alejado de la ciudad, por lo que hay que llevar algo o pedir de un beach club cercano.

4개의 방갈로로 이루어진 곳으로 조용하고 쾌적하며 호수에 바로 인접해있는 곳입니다. 모든 것이 만족스러웠으나 , 한가지...식사를 하기위해서 차를 이용해서 레스토랑을 찿아 나가야 한다는 점이 조금 아쉬운 점이었어요. 그 외에는 모든것이 만족스러워 다음에도 기회가 된다면 꼭 다시 가보고 싶은 곳이라 추천합니다. 특별히 숙박기감 내내 큰 도움을 주신 David 에게 감사 전합니다.
