"I have visited over 170 countries. This castle is in my top two or three most wonderful places I have ever visited. The castle is amazing but the main reason i loved this place so much is because the staff were beyond perfect. They made our stay something I will never forget. The food and wine could not have been more amazing. The live piano played at dinner was priceless. I will fondly remember this place for the rest of my life."

Parkmore Hotel & Leisure Club, Sure Hotel Collection by BW

10/10 Excellent

"I’ve stayed a few times as a little getaway with my daughter. We love having access to spa as well as having the restaurant on site for tea and breakfast the next morning. Great value with great staff."

Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort

8/10 Good

"A good impression on arrival as you drive to the front door. There are a few appointed disability parking spaces but there is additional space that can be used providing it does not limit the thoroughfare. A large parking area is nearby but involves a 5 min walk back. Check-in was handled well for our group although dining that night as a group required meals to be pre-selected to help the catering staff. Whist complying with this requirement, the actual meal service was sporadic with some meals not as hot as they should have been. Rooms were well appointed with all the amenities including a fridge. The hotel has a few disability rooms available with a shower area & sliding en-suite door. These rooms must be requested during the booking service. Rooms have an aircon or heat system to warm the area and easily controlled with wall mounted thermostat. A room card is required to be inserted to activate room electricity to lights, sockets & heating. Beds were comfortable & duvets sufficient for a warm sleep. Rooms are of sufficient size to incorporate a small table and 2 chairs. Room cleaning undertaken each day if required and refreshments replenished - tea, coffee etc & 2 bottles of water. There are a few lounges where you can sit in comfort, have a drink which can be ordered at the bar. Eating is available in the bar area for lunches/meals seperately to the dining room. Pool, sauna etc is available & spa treatments can be pre-booked. Our 2nd 3 night stay at a good price."

"Room was small but had everything we needed. There was, however one flickering ceiling light and some dust on the bed frame. I noticed the mattress was covered with a duvet or mattress cover and wondered why?! Unfortunately, the bad night’s sleep and back ache that ensued was due to a very worn and uncomfy mattress. Breakfast was good, staff very polite and helpful. Parking was easy and £11 extra on your stay"

Commercial Hotel

"Simple but effective accommodation in a wonderful location. The room was modest but with lots of hot water in the shower and radiators with thermostatic valves, so you can choose your temperature. The bed was comfortable, the TV worked and there were basic tea / coffee facilities. I enjoyed the downstairs bar, frequented by locals. Staff were friendly and helpful so parking was free. There is no food but there are local cafes (and Greggs) within a five minute walk.Excellent value for money if you are looking for a basic stay."
