Super comfy room and staff were great. Food in the restaurant was priced high and the quality fell below expectations for the cost. Gym is small but well equipped and the spa and pool area looked really nice and clean. It seemed like the heating was on in the hotel and it was far too warm. Great easy parking on site.

Great weekend break

My cousin joined me on a weekend break for my first birthday since losing my husband. Our stay was great from start to finish. Lovely room, pool area immaculate, food lovely and staff very warm and friendly. I'll be back!

The hotel had a lovely feel to it. Nice, clean, friendly attentive staff. The spa was fantastic. The pool was a nice temperature and clean, as were all the facilities. The whirlpool, sauna, steamroom were all great and and a back and shoulder massage was fantastic. The food was good quality, the breakfast special of avacado and eggs on toast was cooked to perfection. My daughter and I enjoyed a couple of relaxing days at the hotel, after burning energy during the day, exploring the beautiful surroundings, on foot (hiking), paddleboarding and horseriding.

The hotel is ideally situated - while not being in an immediately picturesque location, its proximity to the M6, A66 and Penrith North Lakes railway station make it the perfect base for exploring the beauty of the Lake District in one direction and Yorkshire in the other. The staff are excellent, particularly in the FYR restaurant: friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is equally impressive and the hotel itself is clean, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in.

The main dinning area was nice but unfortunately the bedroom we stayed in had a lot of mould in the bathroom and the room just felt damp and smelt off. The bed was very uncomfortable. The breakfast was nice and offered plenty of options. The pool area which you have to pay for was always very busy. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Booked as a birthday gift for husband and chose a four poster suite. Very disappointing. Tired décor, ripped curtains, stained carpets and dirty mirror. Bathroom very dated and a foist smell throughout. When we arrived there was a vacuum and dirty cloths on the floor so made reception aware. They told me they'd notify housekeeping. Not the four poster suite l'd expected on booking. Other than that, the spa is fine with a lovely warm whirlpool and loungers around the poolside. The restaurant is nice. A shame that the experience didn't live up to expectations as we were looking forward to a luxurious break away.

Nice location, great staff, tired and shabby room.

The staff were great, the location of the hotel again was great. Sadly the room was tired, especially the carpets, which were stained quite badly. Additionally there was no a/c and the extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work, making the room very stuffy. The staff gave us another fan, as one was already in the room.
