"We had a 1 night stay while attending a nearby festival, but wish we'd stayed longer. The most wonderful staff, particularly Mandy on Reception who was super friendly and helpful. 11 out of 10! In addition, the bed had a very comfortable mattress, the rooms had lovely views, the location was great just off the A1. We had a drink on the terrace in the sunshine and enjoyed everything this hotel had to offer. Recommend!"

"This Hotel building has soooo much character! It was a true delight and the staff were all so friendly and upbeat! Beth from the bar/dining room was especially fun with a great sense of humor! She made our stay even more enjoyable! Shebby (sp?), Waffi (sp?)) and Nevin (sp?)were also very fun and pleasant! "Definitely worth a visit. We only stayed for one night but we will be back. Staff all unbelievably good. Food exceptional. Very quiet. Really good nights sleep. Highly recommend this hotel. We also did the free history tour of the castle. Do not miss this as it includes a visit to the roof to take in the views."
